Is it customary to ban/kick someone with some vague general one-word reason?

I'm not saying I'm perfect. Nor am I saying that my profile might not rub a few people the wrong way. I get it, you don't like me or what I like. Cool. I'll be sure to cry over it later. I also get that the moderators and admins have a job to do and don't have time for bullshit from people causing problems. However, I am kinda upset over not being given a legitimate reason for being banned/kicked. Yes, I've been kicked before, and I got some one-word, vague "reason" for being kicked. So, I did what normal people do when not given an actual answer, I assumed one of us pissed off the other somehow, then I ignored it and then I moved on. I didn't even know I could actually complain or write the mod/admin or do anything about it until this latest incident. "Water under the bridge" as they say.

But I do believe there should be a semi-detailed reason for being banned. Maybe an actual sentence? I mean... that screen doesn't even tell you who banned you. It's just "reason you were kicked..." If you're going to have that much power over someone, you should at least use it wisely, possibly be considerate, and at least do some sort of investigation into the matter before you ban someone. Maybe? And that screen should also tell you who banned you as well. I had to go ask a VIP member from another room what I could do about being banned. He pointed me here. And I'm not saying I need a paragraph explaining my "atrocious" behavior. But I think something more than one or two words would be better. The reason for my permanent ban... "Soliciting". And come to find out... it was what I had written in my profile, not what I was saying in the room. To which I questioned @RustyNail about and was given "I don't like your profile or your name" and... "you've been warned (you mean... by kicking me out with a one-word reason that mentioned nothing about my profile?) and kicked before. Hell... he even told me that I got kicked out before by @Summer X, but I can't even find her in the list of admins/mods (maybe I'm not looking in the right place? IDK) for reason of "ped"?? Umm... thanks for judging me based off my profile and not actual evidence. I'm hoping you're kicking those kids out of the Adult/Sex rooms too. And to top it off... he continued his statement to me with "...and you didn't change it". Well, how about saying something like "Look dude, change your profile. It's upsetting me. Or I'll ban you". Maybe that would have worked? Who knows!? He hasn't even told me the other reasons he kicked me. I'm betting those were all one-word reasons too. But if it had been an actual sentence, telling me my profile was offensive, then I would have changed it. Like I told him, I'm not unreasonable, and I've tried to be nice and polite to admins/mods (and well... to everyone else). Oh... and no second chance either, because well... I still don't like you or your name.

I get it... there are rules to follow. And I, like everyone else, don't read the rules. And now, I'm permanently banned. Because of one-word reasons and a clash of personalities. So, no need to help people be better, just ban them all so you don't have to see them. That seems fair.

And I'm not exactly sure about the protocol for such a thread. I don't know if the other admins/mods are copied or will see this. I certainly am not trying to piss anyone off. So, I apologize if you (admins/mods) are getting this multiple times or whatever. But I really think this should be something we could all learn from. I'm not asking @RustyNail to unban me (although, I would be thankful for it AND i would make the appropriate changes), obviously he refuses to give me a second chance because of "reasons". But I do hope that someone will get something out of this.

Thank you.

This seems to be a ban complaint/comment ... Sex Chat issues go to Rusty's inbox (i'm not tagging him since everyone on the site has been now), and I would normally close this, but since it's a comment/feedback about reasons for kicks/bans all over ^^ Ill move this to SC&F for comment but if it carries on as a Sex chat ban complaint it will be closed.

My gawd… idc don’t ping me or other admins for something non related to us…

My gawd 2.. sex chat is a popular room where the mods will kick maybe every 15 seconds. We don’t need to explain in a sentence for every single one…

My gawd 3.. too many words to read I gave up…

I can see why you find the use of one word an issue.

You probably used a good few minutes of your lifespan typing all that out. Rusty used a split second of his with that ban.

My suggestion back to you, OP, is to work smarter not harder. It won’t mean you’ll live longer but you’ll put to better use whatever time you have on this planet.

I understand the post was a bit lengthy (my apologies), but I was trying to be concise and thorough and show those you cared, that some thought actually went into it. And that I'm not just an angry/upset asshole simply "complaining". In fact, I'm not entirely upset over the ban (although I do feel like I wasn't really "warned" properly, so much as just banned). No... this post was more or less just a "simple" recommendation that admins/mods (or whomever can actually ban people) give a little bit more of an explanation as to why they are banning someone. Or maybe possibly, a final warning with a sentence? And it was also an explanation of what I was referring to.

I'm sure none of you would listen if I simply said "I want an explanation for why I was banned" with no context of anything.

Again, it's just a suggestion for banning. Kick away with one-word, I guess.

As far as anyone that I might have left off the list, I apologize to you. No slight. I am actually new to this forum and was trying to find lists of "employees", and the list I found, I used.

For the others that didn't/don't care about what I wrote, cool beans.

The reason for your ban was “soliciting” (according to your post). What else do you feel needed adding to it? I’m genuinely curious.

Well, all this could/would have been avoided and corrected if @RustyNail would have simply said (when he supposedly "warned me before") something as simple as "offensive profile" or "soliciting profile" or "profile doesn't follow the rules" or any of a number of things that would have given me a clue.

When I received that "soliciting" ban, I genuinely thought he had been referring to something I said in the main room. Or perhaps (because a Guest named "danielle24" has been harassing me) someone had falsely reported me or something. Which... I also mention in the very first email to @RustyNail. I had no idea it was because of my profile. Which I literally would not have had any issue of changing.

He says he had "warned" me before. But how was I supposed to extrapolate a proper correction (of either my profile, or my behaviors in the room) if I can't even understand what is meant from literally... one word.

I'm sure none of you would listen if I simply said "I want an explanation for why I was banned" with no context of anything.
If your question had been posed in a Karen-like manner (i.e., "I want an explanation for why I was banned" ), you're probably right. However, if you had phrased the question differently (i.e., "I'm a little confused. Could someone please explain the reason for the ban?", I'm pretty sure you would have gotten the info that you wanted, even though it might not have been the answer that you wanted to hear.

And BTW, thank you @Inkandtatts for not closing this thread before I had a chance to chime in.

That's pretty much exactly how I phrased it when asking @RustyNail and his response was basically... "I don't like you, your profile, or your name" (paraphrased). Oh... and "I warned you" (with an anonymous one-word reason that was totally unclear and confusing).

Some of you may not know this, but I failed "mind-reading 101" class.

And again, I know it's lengthy, but I didn't want to come off, as "just another complainer". I'm actually hoping for a little more empathy from those who have power. Which is what I feel we all should strive for.

On your suggestion to not have one worded ban reasons, I’d say this:

For serious offences that are banned instantly (eg paedophiles, underage ********) it’s fairly obvious to a chatter why they’re banned.

For the less serious offences that don’t attract an instant ban, there are a series of warnings/mutes/kicks and if ******** have concerns about those, it’s reasonable to expect it to be raised with a mod or an admin in the room before getting to the ban stage. It seems to me that you’d had those warnings/kicks and made an assumption about the reasons rather than clarifying:

Yes, I've been kicked before, and I got some one-word, vague "reason" for being kicked. So, I did what normal people do when not given an actual answer, I assumed one of us pissed off the other somehow, then I ignored it and then I moved on.

Having said that, I think you have a point with this:
I had to go ask a VIP member from another room what I could do about being banned. He pointed me here.
I think raising the profile of forums on room home pages/elsewhere would be a good idea although it is on the “contact us” page linked from the CA homepage
