No. Lots of members of our communities go untreated,undiagnosed and others function perfectly fine as productive members of society. Does that make them mass shooters/murderers?

This isnt minority report, we cant predict when mass shootings or homicides are going to take place and then arrest people before they do. If it was possible wed have 0 crime. What we can do as a community is try to help or report people and submit tips to try and curve them.

He had red flags, if laws were in place, he wouldn't have been given his gun. They also ask if you have an arrest warrant on you with the questionnaire. My point is, they're soft and doesn't keep unstable people from owning them. Nearly every mass shooter has had red flags that have been ignored. The RNC calls these school shooters mentally ill and refuses to label them terrorists, while a black man in gangland is called a "thug" so yeah, they certainly would have a different tune if most of them weren't white and right wing.

You have to make up your mind what argument you are in. AR? Mass Shootings? Hand Guns? Shot Guns? The law is different in most states in each case. Even that being said. With out someone intentionally seeking to do harm on a mass scale, there isn't a fire arm in the world that will just suddenly go off and cause a mass shooting incident. The buffalo shooter passed a background check and purchased his gun legally. When he was purchasing the gun the buffalo shooter claimed he was going to use the gun for "target practice". If he said he was going to use the gun for "target practicing" peoples backs and heads, then that would have raised a "red flag" and resulted in the gun not being sold and authorities contacted.

Similar to you going to the store and buying a case of beer. You can go in and buy beer whenever you want if youre of age (just like a gun). But if the storeowner sees that you are in fact purchasing this beer or you admit to purchasing this beer for a minor, then that would raise a "red flag" and he can refuse a sale.

The difference between these 2 examples is one is also vetted with a background check that includes checks for mental illness.
