Name one good reason Mods need to log in as guests or alt accounts.
Pro tip: you cant

There is no reason a MOD needs to log in as a guest to observe chat. MODS logging in as anything other than their mod account should be fired.

Doing his would cut back on MOD trolling and maximize Moderating.

"Ghost moderating" is a thing reserved for the admin. Not MODS. Having MODS in the user panel is proven to cut back on people breaking rules.

Not only to MODS log in as guests to troll other users but they also log in as a guest to avoid having to moderate. This is not helpful to the room.

This needs to end NOW.

I thought I heard somewhere that it's against the rules to bait other people.

Maybe not for the mods or whatever. But, still it seems shady to me.

And plus, how does having a non - guests accounts make it easier to get proof and stuff?
This is precisely what im talking about. Mods baiting=trolling.
The argument has already been made that this is "undercover work" and not trolling. Call it what you want these "good intentions" are basically impossible to prove and have full potential of being abused. The admins will always claim their mods are in the right and do everything with good intentions.
As an example, if a staff member asks someone their age, the answer isn't always honest. This is because if the person is outside of the age parameters for the room, they know they'll be removed and banned if they are truthful. So by using a non-staff account to ask someone their age, they're more likely to give an honest answer.
For someone that likes to give a lot of examples you sure dont like responding to others examples. While your example doesnt necessarily display signs of entrapment, mod post above you clearly just stated shes "baits" people to obtain "bannable proof". This shows that mods TARGET people. Which is a sign of BIAS. Which is a sign of HARASSMENT.

But when do you see mods disagree with each other on forums? They actively avoid it because they dont want to lose their "mod priviliges. Thats why none of you ever speak out against mods/admins breaking rules. You are part of the circle that is the mod club, and the reason this site can never improve. It always starts at the top.

Good points.

Some of the mods here are shady.

They always cover up their own mistakes and the admins don't do anything about it.

Like how can people trust them if they have their own agendas and ways of doing things?

And yeah, I'm still not getting an answer about why a mod needs to have a fake account. That's just sketchy.

Like, who's going to keep them in check if they're not on their mod account?

They might as well kick people out they dislike for simple reasons when other posted content that are (considered) illegal.

Some of the mods don't like to admit when they're wrong, but you've made some good points that show the truth.

Staff have every right to chat normally especially if they've met their suggested times already. It is a volunteer position after all. And having an alt can be useful for other things.

I was answering a question and I felt an example would provide a better explanation. If you have an issue with what another mod said, I suggest you address it with them instead of using your bold capital letters towards me. For the sake of conversation though and continuing with my prior example, yes, investigating ******** can be targeted and can lead to bans. Because I mod a 18+ room, I'm substantially less likely to ask the age of a 55 year old chatter who has their age on their profile and profile picture to match. I'm far more likely to ask the age of someone who has "teen" or "boy" or "young" in their name but no age on their profile. With 1000 ******** at any given time, not targeting efforts would be a waste of time and badgering someone about their age who clearly is of appropriate age for the room might actually be harassment.

It's kind of double logging in a way, but with a different method.
Double logging involves having more than one account actively logged into a room at the same time. If a staff member is on an alternate guest or registered account, they should be logged out of their staff account as to avoid this.

Continuing the topic.

I remember when I’m modded video chat the second go around. @Coyo my boss told me you can login as a guest as long as there’s two mods present in the room. If there’s only one you have to login and help out. I helped out in a much smaller room now, so there’s no point in me logging in as a guest.
