Why do we learn geometry if it's never really used?

also why not use square buns?

Algebra is useful too. For a start it teaches you which order to do operations in (BIDMAS/BODMAS) and conversely which order to write them in which ensures accurate results, it teaches you how to change a calculation around according to the unknown...

It’s funny how these things that sound stupid when you’re learning them do help you later in life. Without geometry there’s no way McDonald’s would exist today even though they may not have realised they were using it when they designed the first restaurant

If you want to buy something that's sized you have to measure it. Same goes for area size, it's all geometry

They'd have needed both algebra and trigonometry as well as geometry and calculus to design and build the restaurants
