What are we even doing in Camchat?

I know how this is going to go, so I don't know why I am even bothering with it. Tell me how so and so is a bad person, they are doing it on purpose, and how they deserve it, or how I don't know the whole story blah blah balah. It's not even about me, but it's whatever.

When Ness was removed, things improved dramatically in the room, and it was like a breath of fresh air. People were getting along with the mods again, and a lot of that bad blood was almost gone, and it was nice to be able to have a good time without anyone showing up and ruining the vibe with nonsense.

What we are seeing is moderation based on feelings, and we are seeing mods injecting themselves into conversations, telling chat what they can and can't talk about when there are not even any rules about it, inventing rules on the spot, and generally just showing up and sucking the fun right out of the room. It's to the point where myself and more regulars that you think are on the verge of just giving up on the place, unless we get a grip on things.

The big issue is that the mod actions are taken unevenly, and certain people are being policed to death for such trivial things that nobody else gets messed with about. Like today, we were just doing the usual chat thing, and pwurring once again gets hit with a mute for the dumbest thing that nobody else would have been muted over, because she is an "abuser" according to the mute message. "disrupting the room" by asking why a dude there was calling himself a Teacher gets her muted, while other people spam about their penis, beg the women to take their clothes off, and genuinely ARE disrupting the room. Eddie can repeat "show feet" every 3 minutes, and it's not disruptive, but got forbid someone on the "sh*t list" says anthing at all that can technically be considered even slightly outside the rules, and it's a big deal.

This is not even just about that specific thing either, it's about the trend of being overly harsh on certain people when it's not called for, while totally ignoring every other person who does the same things. Half the chat can dog pile on stiffy and talk crap to him for hours at a time on a daily basis, including some of the mods at times, but when it's personal, any reason to mute someone will do.

If we really care that much about that sort of thing, then where is the justice for stiffy? How come I myself am not being muted regularly for talking much worse smack to the pests? How come we are not enforcing the disruption rules when half the chat is describing how they are wanking, or how they want to jizz on random girl's faces constantly?

I think what we need to understand is that it's not just one person you are running off when you are overly aggressive, but it's them, and half the people they know that leave with them, and half the people that those people know. The room sees this stuff happen, and then they get annoyed by it as well, and then that leads to more bad feelings about the mods. The real point here is that if the same standards are being used for everyone, then at least half the chat would be muted at all times, and not just the handful of people that certain mods have decided are the primary targets.

Yeah, we are all about the "spirit of the rules" and not just blindly enforcing them to the exact letter, until it's someone we personally have a problem with. At that point, any little deviation is enough to go after them, while at the same time not noticing 20 other people doing worse things at the same time.

That's my rant. Go ahead and ignore it and justify why I am wrong, but we all know that the rules are absoultely not enforced evenly, so let's not insult everybodies intelligence by acting otherwise.

Of Course I Agree GIF by Pembe

I didn't even bother making a forum post about my unjust mute cause I already know how its gonna go; I'm just gonna be threatened with a 1 year ban and told I'm wrong and deserve it, so thanks for touching on this topic and noticing the abuse LOL!

real question -

who could be bothered to spend the time, to read the OP's stuff?
I will be honest - i couldnt be arsed to read it all.
it was kinda boring.
Respect, ... but no respect, also.

A lot of words and paragraphs. But i seem to have missed what the actual complaint about me and my mod team was. Can someone provide a tldr please?
1 confused admin
The complaint is that certain members of the team are not playing by the same rules with everybody. Today was a solid example of how we were informed that the rules are not really rules unless the specific mod at the time feels like they are rules.

Case in point, tonight when pwurring was using the larger font (not caps) that VIP users can use, and was informed about the unwritten rule that with fonts that are larger, you can not type as often and quickly as you can with the standard member font. Chat was told that it's up to the mod at the time to decide how often is too often. Again, there is no rules about that, just whatever the particular mod at the time decides the rule is at that time.

We saw Sac in chat abusing the hell out of the rules, spamming caps, and it took him using racial attacks for anything to finally happen, when certain other people would have been hit with a mute right away. Other examples being that you see certain members being muted or kicked for spam, yet Suzi can spam cap locks LIIIIIKEEEEEEEE THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! for an hour at a time while speaking with mods, and it's not a problem.

What I am asking is to either turn a blind eye to everyone equally, or enforce the same rules with everyone equally. I would suggest the first option personally, otherwise chat will be looking pretty empty most the time, if we are going to be that strict with everyone equally. Not doing so is what creates the friction in the first place, when someone is being put under a microscope more than others.

I mean for real, how am I getting away with the same sort of stuff that someone else does not get away with? If person A is muted for talking some smack, then I should be too, and so should anyone else.

can you be a bit more concise?

I know i'm not always concise (a lesson I also need to learn)

but basically ... if you can be more concise, ... people will be more inclined to listen to you

In all fairness, if you don’t agree with how the Admin is running the room, you’re always free to leave.

No one is forcing you to stay, and no one is pressuring you to be part of a space you’re not comfortable in.

If you feel something is genuinely wrong, you have every right to voice your concerns. However, if the issue isn’t resolved and the complaints continue, it only creates more frustration for you in the long run.

As an adult, it’s important to recognize when it’s time to step away rather than repeat the same complaints.

And if the matter is truly serious, you’re welcome to reach out to @Chatmaster directly.

lol wow you sound like a crybaby. Come on buttercup ignore it and it may go away
Why are you here, Sac? You aint fooling anyone with the alt account you made today. Take your mute for the week on the chin, and consider it a lesson learned. It ain't that deep.

I did not think that it was this hard to understand. Anybody with a little reading comprehension can understand the message.

Don't feed into them.
Isn't worth your time my man.
I wish you the BEST! of luck.

I've talked to the mod responsible for Pwurrs mute. It was NOT caps related at all.
Suzi has been warned about her caps use. She's still mad at me.
Sac was muted for a week on the semi racial attack yes. He'll be mad at me for a few months.
And You lot need to understand a couple of things.
I'm the video chat admin which was hacked and taken down. Me and my mod team are in cam chat on loan.
Chatmaster won't get rid of me because he'd actually have to work. 😱 ie get off his ass.
Most rooms have 10 staff....Alot of the rooms have a hella lot less chat ters then camchat. And yet i have a total of 5 including myself. I cannot provide 24 hour staff...Not even remotely happening.
