That doesn’t say you will be diabetes free. A new pancreas will have stronger insulin levels. It is your body (immune system) that brings out the diabetes because the pancreas cannot produce as much insulin.
All that is saying is you won’t need to inject as much or be as reliant because a new pancreas will have better cells to combat the risk of having to rely on insulin. I am a type 1 on record however I don’t believe it.
Sorry for repeat posts 420 character limit can f off
I’m a type 1 on paper although I challenge them because I believe I’m type 2. My blood sugar levels have drasticallly improved ever since I had surgery to remove an abcess which led to sepsis. But I think you may have read that in false hope because you have other medical complications going on
Think of it like this: a heart pumps your blood and you are diagnosed with blood cancer. A new heart wouldn’t produce new cancer free blood- it’s the body’s cells.
I got diagnosed as a type 1 when I was 14 they are now saying I’m a type 2 I’m on insulin my blood sugar are poor hence all my meds & illnesses I believe I’m a type 1 and I’ve always been one
And I’ve never took a type 2 pills apart from when I was younger but if they did put me on a high dose I guess I’d die well aleast my kidneys will do can’t win it’s my only option or I stay on insulin for life
Can I ask what your average readings are? I think the lowest mine has been was 3.9 and that was after my surgery alongside not being able to eat food, I had to live on tinned spaghetti and mash potatoes alongside 1 months worth of Botics and dealing with dry socket etc. fuckin wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone.
Can only go by what you’ve stated but sounds like you are a type 1. Which is why I don’t understand insulin being given to type 1- the insulin is gonna decrease it even more. Definitely get second, third and fourth opinions. Don’t mess around with health
Highest mine has been was in the 20s and that was pre surgery at that time they didn’t know what was causing the spike. Cake didn’t help either like lol. High bloods are common with type 2- it has surely got to be alongside other conditions/meds. Deffo advise getting further tests done!
Is that the Libre by any chance? That fkn machine used to show results like that and scare the crap out of me especially when alarm would go off at 2am. Always do blood finger prick tests to confirm write it down and compare. 4 of those I returned faulty.
If you were actually at 2.9 you most definitely would know it. Best way I can describe it only via someone else who has experienced a hypo is you feel severely hungover with the shakes then you wake up with someone holding your head up trying to pour lucozade down your throat. You can also tell yourself if your urine smells really sweet (vile I know)
Caresens S Fit is what you need. They are available from your DSN and your GP and they’re free and just get put on prescription. Very concerning you’ve never been given a fingerprick test. Don’t rely on technology, in these cases, your body is the only accurate source you should believe.
Get one ASAP. Go on the NHS app and order your repeat and leave a note in the text box requesting this. They have to call you before as they cannot put the script through so you’ve got them there and then And mention this. That a serious safeguarding concern and duty of care breach. Is this Manchester Royal or Salford Gen??
I go low to the point of I start sweating 😰 buckets start shaking then need a can of coke I have coke and lucozade for emergencies and now there telling me I have trapped nerves in my legs though diabetes and are putting me on pills for it
Yes that sounds like type 1 symptoms. Trapped nerves may very well be a case as diabetes does affect your feet and circulation so always keep moving and barefoot if you can at home let breathe and sit comfortably.
