The weekend = watching the 'footy' (AFL). Only 3 rounds to go after this week. Getting more & more exciting as teams try to secure a finals spot. After the game tonight, I might watch a movie, though haven't had much sleep, so an early night isn't out of the question either...

We had two live games this weekend - the Swans win and the Carlton loss.

Did you see that horrific king-hit on the 18-year-old Dockers' player? 100 metres off the ball, fractured jaw and four displaced teeth that are caved in.

Does AFL not have a 'Red Card' category for obscene play like that?

We should have a red card system, it has been talked about. Didn't see that game, was coming off a big Saturday night...

    Indeed.

One of the games shown had one team so stricken with injury they only had 16 or 17 guys on the field at the end of the game ... but they still won, ha.

Yes GWS who played Carlton on the w/e were completely depleted on the bench. As they hurtled towards a 100+ point win, they still rotated 2 off the bench, thus reducing them to 16 on the field. Quite bizarre. Never seen that happen before!

Have an episode of Condor waiting (only 2 to go). Also making progress with The Newsroom + Halt & Catch Fire, both which are really good!

Couldn't handle the first Wolf Creek. Creeped the absolute f*ck out of me. Turned it off. While I'm a massive fan of the horror genre, this was just sick & twisted. Jon Jarratt is too good in the role of a pyscho serial killer!

I'm really loving Jeff Daniels in The Newsroom. He is such a good lead actor. Without wanting to come off sexist or misogynistic, as a guy, I guess it's in my DNA to like a strong male lead. I love all the work being done towards gender equality, the Me Too movement and seeing the demise of some really horrible and sleazy guys such as Harvey Weinstein - I also can never watch a Kevin Spacey show or movie ever again. I love shows with strong female characters and leads, and in recent years they've been popping up everywhere, especially when you consider the rise of streaming services, Netflix being the perfect example, where the female demographic needs to be reached to ensure profitability, but yeah, sue me, I'm a guy and I still like a strong male lead.

I enjoy watching The Roman Empire on Netflix. It's about Caesar's conquests to expand the Roman empire and his conflicts with the Senate. Very entertaining, but I have a feeling a lot of the history is fabricated, or altered either to make it more entertaining, or to make it "relevant" to today's politics.
