In regards to Adult Chat and Sex Chat type chat rooms.
Fielding the cam requests is kind of a pain. If your cam is on, you have to be sitting there watching for the requests to come through, and they expire very quickly. If you look away, you miss it.
Some requests:
1. Put an audible alert on cam requests.
2. Allow the cam request to stay around much longer.
3. Give registered users the option to have an 'open' cam, that can be open viewed, like on the Video Chat chat room. VERY convenient.
3a. Give audio notification if someone comes in to view the open cam.
I guess the point here is that cam chatting the way you have it now, has to be very "synchronous" to work - and that's not always the best experience.
Some of us - probably a lot of us - are working or doing things on the side, and a passive approach with notification would so much easier and really nice.
Is some of this possible or are these things just a pipe-dream? It seems like this chat software is maybe pre-built and nothing else additional is really done to improve it.
I'm a developer, maybe I'll look at the code and suggest the improvements.
