Fixing The Server Errors

I sent a private message to Chatmaster earlier this morning after doing a number of tests last night to see what the problem was.

It looks like it's either a PHP version incompatibility with the latest version of Vbulletin or the need for a reindex of the database after their mostly successful, eventually, upgrade of the forums. Of note, when you post a message it returns a 500 status code error...which is pretty ambiguous. That being said, the error comes from "post-thread" which is a function that does a number of database queries. Hopefully they listen to my recommendations for how to fix the problem.

@H.R. PufnStuf @Ness_eb you can delete this duplicate account that was used to test the problems...if that's what the rules are.

What that means is that nothing we do as users will fix the problem. It's server side. Hopefully they look at the webserver error logs to see what they can find. It'll point to which of the two is the problem. The fixes for both are...relatively easy.

Right...the offshoot when they sold out or something...same thing...ultimately...the issue is still the same...serverside error because of either a database reindex that should have been done when the upgrade happened...or a php incompatibility with the latest version...i'm more inclined to think the db reindex since it seems like the only issue...where as the php incompatibility would have broader sweeping issues...but the logs would show...

youre a GENIUS

😅 i think the most annoying part for me is that when it happens...you go on to another post but your message was saved as draft...so you have to delete that comment before making your next
Strangely it doesn’t happen on all forums so it’s only partially fucked

wait... dont tell me...

slow claps yeah great post, server errors, can chatmaster help, ugh i tried to buy VIP and it didn't go through can chatmaster help,

fucking stupid useless complaints, Hey @Chatmaster how about putting in some software to stop the fucking kiddy script spammers, just at a bare minimum, some how you managed to finally take out the myfreecams link in general chat, that was fucking amazing, I could be wrong but I haven't seen it when I log in as a guest, and if I am wrong then you are still a scuzzy piece of ****. if not then you just bumped up a small knot to a regular piece of ****.

But look @Chatmaster you keep doing you with this website, make sure to not do anything about the adult chatrooms that any child with access to the internet can get into being available to said children, Because we all know those craphole chatrooms are really beneficial to society.

oh an thanks for the upgrade with the " Gold Balance and Gifts " holy fucking crap if that wasn't a great fucking idea. golf claps, man whoever got that done, job well done you stupid asshole.

so keep up the good work to @Chatmaster and your team, yall are nailing it, make sure to focus on the server errors dont worry about spending a few bucks on software to stop spamming, and the other stuff I mentioned. God knows yall are working to fucking hard as it is.

yeah...both your comments makes me lean towards the database reindex than a php version issue.
Beyond my abilities.

Edit: Given the tools and clear instructions I could
if the problem was the php version you'd need the following tools: putty. you'd also need sudoer access on the box. instructions would depend on if they're using nginx or apache. apache is way easier.

if the problem is database related you'd need no tools, just real administrative access to the forums and just click the reindex function in the database management section of the forums.

a monkey could do it maybe...you...only one way to find out
