I have a couple of questions:

1. If someone averages around 5 posts an hour on their own profile but it’s about you, directed towards you, or tagging you (and its unwanted) is that actionable?

2. I’m fully aware that I can use ignore but as someone who had a post deleted recently for “slander”, if the person I mentioned above is also making statements that are defamatory even if it’s on their own profile, are defamatory comments actionable?

I seem to have acquired a stalker who is a known convicted violent homophobe and I don’t want to waste your time with reports if the stalking and defamation isn’t actionable.

I’m also raising it because the person in question has also behaved in this manner towards others and I’m sure they wish to have clarification too.

There are approximately 15 comments which on their own may not be actionable but collectively they show a pattern.

Thank you

Actually I’m not sure that’s right.

It’s not a suggestion, it’s not a comment, it’s not feedback. It’s a forums issue as per the forum where I posted it but it’s not a huge issue for me where it is as long as it’s dealt with

Edit: to explain - thread was posted in kick/ban inquiries and mod complaints/compliments which according to the header is also the section for forums related issues. It’s now in suggestions, comments and feedback

Ok, but you seem to be complaining about another user, not wrongfully deleted posts, forum ban etc

In all fairness, actioning any user who cant ignore staff, who is retaliating against provocations (perceived or not) by staff seems to be a violation of "what good for the goose is good for the gander.

Domestic violence posts and related "side talking"have seemed to cause an uproar, perhaps its time for everyone to stop throwing fuel on that fire.

edit: unless all sides are actioned, and forums apply to everyone- including staff)

EDITED for grammar

Perhaps it’s time to take your own advice and also not to coach a known violent offender in how to post homophobic comments. But that’s just my opinion.

“Perceived or not”

So now perception (or not) comes into play.

I now perceive that you support a violent homophobic offender, not least because of your interactions and coaching of her.

Can another UM please review this?

your reports were assigned to various UM's. Im not willing to be drawn into an argument in public forums, and its not my job to provide anyone with tissues who cant stand the heat when they pour fuel on the fire.

@Inkandtatts point 2 is a question mayhaps an issue relating to a post being questionably deleted.

good for the goose good for the gander only applies if said 2 flying birds are able to reply (without edit/deletion or fear thereof) .

@Apollo @Ness_eb @TheLeigh please have a word with HR.

Not only do those comments HR just made make a laughing stock of this place but they endorse various TOS violations as well as pretty much saying it’s open season for anyone to post anything they like.

Example:
User A perceives that User B is trolling them
User B can then say what they like about User A, regardless of reality because they have a “perception” and they can include (according to HR) homophobic comments which then opens up the scope to include mocking disabilities, racism, sexism etc.

This thread can be closed now by any of the 3 UMs I’ve tagged above. When 25% of the forums staff hold views like HR does, it’s time to give up.

I was being polite. Its quite apparent you are/were a willing participant in that forums drama, and were being provocative towards that user.

EDITED; to clarify

I have a couple of questions:

1. If someone averages around 5 posts an hour on their own profile but it’s about you, directed towards you, or tagging you (and its unwanted) is that actionable?
The amount of posts are irrelevant of course but if you’re being harassed, which isn’t allowed anywhere on Chat Avenue, it’s indeed actionable as I believe it would be for anyone on here.

Yes, defamatory comments are actionable.

I hope this helps, but maybe @Apollo or @Ness_eb will have something more “seasoned” to add.

Agreed, and actioned as such.
