These are the rules for Gay Chat. You should be aware of them before chatting in the room. Users may be removed for a reason other than those listed below but these rules will be reviewed and, where required, updated regularly.

- Gay Chat is 18+ only. Any users under this age will be removed and banned. Chat Avenue has a number of rooms that are appropriate for under 18s including Teen Chat here and Boys Chat here. All Chat Avenue rooms can be found by clicking here.
- All usernames, profile content, and any messages posted in the main chat must be in English. You may choose to speak in any language in private. Please note that any reports that you make of private conversations conducted in a language other than English are unlikely to be actioned as our staff may not understand the message
- Personal information must not be posted in main chat or on profiles. This includes but is not limited to your full name, telephone number, physical address, email address, and any social profiles (eg. Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat). You are free to share these in private but we recommend reading the Chat Safety page of this site
- You must not disrupt the chat in any way, including SPAMMING (repeat the same thing at least 2 times on the same screen/window) or flooding the chat (posting the same message at least 4 times without breaks). You must not type excessively in all caps, use illegible fonts, or post gifs/flashing images that may cause discomfort or ill health to those with disabilities such as epilepsy
- Racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and all other forms of hate speech are not acceptable
- Doxxing (the sharing of other people's information/images) without their consent is not permitted
- Threats to hack any pages/rooms of Chat Avenue are not acceptable
- No external URLs are to be posted in chat. This includes, but is not limited to, the advertisement of other sites
- The following must not be discussed at all:
- Rape
- Pedophilia including references to babysitting and roleplaying scenes involving pedophilia
- Bestiality/K9/Zoo
- Incest
- Death or violence, including Murder, Suicide, and Torture
- Prostitution/escorts
- Soliciting for money or services, ewhoring, sales of anything (including but not limited to cam shows, sexual services, pics)

- The following subjects must not be discussed in main chat but discussing them in private messages with a willing participant is acceptable (i) scat (ii) piss (iii) Bug Chasing/gift giving/pozzing (the discussion of the intentional transmission of sexually transmitted infections)
- The posting of CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) either in main chat or privately will result in a ban from the room. Your details may also be provided to the authorities either in your country or international agencies
- Posting images of children is not appropriate. Posting images of children in a state of undress will be dealt with under rule 11. For the avoidance of any doubt, users ignoring rule 1 sharing nude images of themselves will be regarded as distributing child porn and therefore rule 11 will apply
- If you ask for young, teens, or boys, you must state the age you are looking for which can be a range. Eg. "Looking for young guys age 20-23". If you are describing yourself in those terms or other language that could suggest you are under 18, you must have your age set on your profile. Remember that 70% of "teens" are underage for Gay Chat - choose your language carefully
- Trading/Send to Receive (StR and all its variations) is not permitted at all. This includes trading pics, videos, passwords, or anything else. Trading of child porn will be dealt with under rule 11 and includes trading of Mega/Dropbox/Onion, or similar
- Impersonating a member of Chat Avenue staff is not permitted
- Using the report feature to harass another member of chat or staff must not take place
- Catfishing (using someone else's identity/image and passing it off as yourself) is not permitted and is treated in the same way as doxxing
- Any requests for "age play" must only involve those over 18 and must include the ages you are looking to play/for others to play. Your attention is drawn to rule 9(2) above
- Asking for “no limits” is not permitted. We have limits, as you can see from the rules above
