Hi all, I need some advice. I have a drinking problem, I started drinking when I was in school. Now I drink a lot and it scares me. I am trying to reduce my alcohol intake but I can't control my desire. My friends suggested getting medical support. Can someone suggest a rehab I can consider? Does anyone have any experience with there treatments? Kindly share your suggestions.

Howdy Jamesbutler,

I know some people that have drinking issues and some want to get help and some don't want to get help. I am happy that you are reaching out here so I can help you. I would never change anyone. I am happy to help people that ask for help. I help people that reach out for help like you are doing. Also think about others besides yourself like your loves ones. Think about if you if you were drinking and been drinking you might get into a car crash and innocent folks might die from you bad selfish actions. Would you want that to happen? I sure would not want any innocent folks to be killed by a drink driver what so ever. Yes, I know it is hard to change, but you have the right to choose to do the right thing or the wrong things in life too.

I am so sorry that you have an alcohol problem. Most everyone in life has some kinds of issues. I am glad though that you know that you have a drinking problem.
I thank God that I have never had a drinking problem. But last year in 2019 I said I would never drink again so I do not drink. I drank only on holidays or my birthdays. But it was very little. I know some people can cut cold turkey and some can not. I will be praying for you. Do you have a family doctor that you can go to and talk to the that doctor 1st. See what the doctor says, and ask him where you can so seek more help and possible some counseling. Sometimes counseling helps and sometime it does not help. I enjoy talking to someone to let it all out of my heart and chest. Sometimes if you go to college they have free counseling as well. Which that is a bonus when you can get free counseling. I would also ****** some good rehab places. There are some churches out there in this world that can also help you out for free too. When I have problems and issues I pray to God. I give all my problems and issues to God. I lift up my problems and issues to God always. You can ****** some prayer lines. They pray for you for free too. Yes, there is free help out there and like you said you have a friend that cares for you to ask you to get help per your message on here. You have people in your life that care and love you and they just want to help you to better yourself not to be mean to you. Good luck to you and I hope the best for you always. I wish you well. I really truly hope this helps you. Have a blessed day. God really loves you so much. May God bless you and may God help you during this matter. Dear God, you know this person. Please help him thru his alcohol issues, he is trying to get help. God I want to lift James up to you right now. Give him peace, love, and happiness God. God you are number one. God please wrap you hands around James and tell him you love him and you are there for him always, no matter what he does in life good or bad. He is asking for help. God please help him daily with this struggle. In Gods name I pray Amen. 🙂 Love you sister in Christ, Princessa. Remember in Gods eyes your perfect and you are not a mistake either.

All the best

We have this running through our family (hence why i dont use the stuff ).
My father and his co workers were sent to a rehab when these first started to open since his work place was full of alcoholics, everyone used alcohol and it was making the news.
It is hard to stay away from something you see everywhere, real life, movies, tv - alcohol is such a accepted part of our society.

I would think any reputable rehab facility may help you since you want the help. If you are paying for the rehab out of your pocket it can be expensive!! I would think you would want to check out prices first , if you are paying for it out of your pocket. If going through your insurance , find one that takes your insurance. I hear the human resource departments here in the usa will help with this, however I dont know if this is real or just a rumor. I would think our tax dollars are being used to help people. The feeling of being drunk is actually your body being poisoned, after some time your body fights back this poison by adapting to the alcohol. Hence the addiction.

Stay away from your party friends. Dont walk down the alcohol isle of the store when you are buying such things as milk. Find some other means for the sugar you are also addicted to. Alcohol has sugars folks get addicted to as well as the alcohol. Learn to say no to your party friends, they will stop asking after you tell them no long enough. You will feel like crap the first week or two as your body weens itself off the alcohol, but you can do it. There are the aa meetings you can go to as well .....

A change in lifestyle is needed and you will always be wanting to use alcohol...... one day at a time . You can do this!

Best advice is actually go to your local hospital/health clinic and speak to them about it they’ll more then likely give you some information for drug And alcohol services for your area. Good luck!
