Mouse/rats in the kitchen

We've recently become aware that we may have a rat/mouse problem in our kitchen.....we noticed what may have been droppings on the floor a few weeks ago, and now we're seeing the same thing on the shelves.....

Obviously mouse traps are in order, but what other concerns should we have? Should we disinfect all our shelves on an increased basis? Should we throw out some or all of our food?

My suggestion is maybe hire a professional. Just because you only notice them in the kitchen does not mean they have not infiltrated other areas of your residence. For example if you live in a house they could be accessing heat and air duct work to get to different areas of your house. Do you have pets that you feed in the kitchen?

Yes! Please throw everything out and start out fresh again. Start all over again. Rats give me the creeps. Thank you kindly. Have a lovely Sunday night.

Keep things in cans, jars or containers. If your food comes in bag or boxes get rid of them and put them in jars/containers.

Unless you live in a farm, Rats are a community problem, The best thing you can do is try to keep them out of your home. Clean up outside shelter and start covering any entry point into the home.

just clean your fuckin’ house consistently,

like, vaccuum the crumbs & vomit off your floor instead of just stepping over it all the time like a slob…
