I get put off from playing my favorite game if I know there is a new patch or even sequel on the horizon. Recent examples include KSP (if it's not waiting for a mod or a patch, now there is a sequel too), Transport Fever (sequel announced) Steel Division 2 (patch coming), Civ 6 (patches all the time) basically any game really. If the game isn't new or working perfectly, I can't seem to invest the time when I know that it's going to be fixed or improved in the near future.
