Question regarding the report button in kids chat

Would a moderator or forum mod/admin please tell me . When we report someone on kids chat using the report system, i was always under the impression that this was private ie between me & the mod who picked up the complaint ?
The reason I ask is after someone was reported for a legitimate reason,I'd like to know why said mod must of told that person who reported them , as the person immediately sent me an abusive pm thanking !! me for reporting them .
Having never spoken to that person before and no connection to them , the only way they could possibly know it was me , would be the one mod who was on told them ,
That kinda means i no longer feel comfortable reporting if my names going to be given to the offending user
I would appreciate anyone clarifying this for me , I do have ss of everything also Thanks

Well, if the person you reported gets warned by a mod for a specific offense, and you were the only person they were talking to, then it's pretty easy to narrow down who reported them. Or if they got kicked for abusive language right after saying something rude to you, then they can figure out you're the one who reported them. But users can't directly see if they were reported. Hope this makes sense.

I reported a post from main chat , where they told a user to cut themselves deep with razor blades , i have no contact with them and didn't say anything in main

To the OP: This is just a general comment as I don’t moderate that room. I completely understand your concern. And moderators should not be telling violators who reported them. As mentioned above, there may be situations where a violator could deduce who reported them and then try and harass them. In that case, I recommend not engaging with that person and reporting the harassing pm.

If it can be proven that a moderator intentionally told a violator who reported them this needs to be addressed by the room admin who is responsible for ensuring the moderators act accordingly.

I would encourage you to continue to report violators according to your comfort level. Thanks for your help 👍🏻

In this case the offender WAS the mod and they said something pretty rude to the OP.

I saw your ss but I don’t know who is a mod and who is a chatter. So are you saying that the Uruha account is a moderators ******** account? If that’s the case I would think the room admin should look into this further to see what rule was violated and take action against the moderator.

That was amazing and it was beautiful to watch, since I've been on this forum it's the first time I've seen an OP being heard, getting help with his problem and being encouraged to report wrongdoing when it comes to abuse of power by a moderator . Usually people who come here to report abuse of moderator power receive trolling and a lot of disrespect here in this forum, but this time it was different, it was amazing and it was beautiful to watch. OP was respectful to mods and mods were respectful to OP, a two way respect, as it should be. Users and mods helped the OP resolve an issue, listened to what he had to say, resolved the issue, and encouraged action to be taken. It's this kind of attitude that will change this site, this kind of attitude that pays to open the book and come here just to register a compliment to all of you involved in this topic, because you all deserved it. I always criticize moderators when they do a bad job or are a shitty person, but I also know how to recognize, praise and congratulate them for the excellent work, when a moderator / admin does an excellent job, and that was a model service that should serve as a mirror for everyone else. Helping the OP and encouraging him to report mods that abuse their power, like the girl in this room did. And and kudos goes out to all users involved in the thread, @Luka and @Boba Fett too. Congrats, that was awesome, you guys did it without trolling or making personal attacks on the OP. This site user service was amazing. Congratulations and merry christmas. Closing the book again.
And once again, congratulations and congratulations to all moderators and users involved in this thread. This was the best topic handling involving moderators and users I've seen on this forum since the day I joined this place. Congratulations to all of you, you were amazing.
Bye and have a nice day!

The moderator lulumetal has been removed. Thanks for notifying the admin and helping to get this resolved, @Quil.
Thank you very much for all your help , it's much appreciated , also just so you know a number of users here have contacted me in private message to say , how impressed they were by everyone's response to me . So it does get noticed when mods/admins & users interact in a sensible & polite way ,
So thank you for your efforts, I hope never to have complain again about a mod , verity

Yes, it was and is without a doubt the best of topic treatment I've seen on this site. It was beautiful, it was incredible and everyone, absolutely everyone mods involved in dealing with this topic deserved recognition and a message of congratulations from the @Chatmaster. You should value your employees when they do a great job, recognition and praise should be the least you should give them @Chatmaster. And this topic was an example of excellent work here. That's it!
