Tekken 7

Friends, I have just started playing Tekken 7 and I understand that choosing the right character is one of the most powerful factors for quickly progressing in the game and having a lot of fun. What character should I play as a newbie?
 
I would advise you to play as Kazumi from the very beginning. She is effective offensively due to her quick and powerful thrusting. This type of attack will be basic for beginners as it is easy to execute and easy to combine into a combo.
King is also perfect for a beginner. It may take you a while to get used to controlling the King, but the reward for your efforts will be great strength! Take the time to practice your shots and you can work wonders in matches.

A lot of people are saying the best character is the one you like the look of the most (which to an extent is true), but as you're specifically asking for character recommendations I'd suggest Dragunov, Shaheen or Kazumi. They have good, strong 'normal Tekken' moves and none of them have anything so difficult that it will be a big barrier to entry. Their movelists are quite concise, and in my opinion they'll teach you the right skills required for playing Tekken well, without having anything which will get you into bad habits as a new player.
 
I love Tekken 7 and i have been playing it at a local gaming group who play it and some other games on a monthly basis. Defo will be grabbing this game for my PS4 sometime soon. I started out by picking Lee or Law for some reason i just found them both really easy to use, although saying that the Eddie character is easy all round as well. Have fun picking one.
