I had a disagreement on if it's offensive or not. Like to hear other's opinions to clear it up

Yes, it is indeed offensive. It is a derogatory and contemptuous word used to describe lesbians and any respectful person would not use it. If you did some actual research, you wouldn't have to ask nor appear as such an idiot for asking the question in the first place.

I agree, it's context dependent. I've thrown it around, about myself mostly and mostly in a joking manner, and been called it as a derogatory term too. I don't remember ever getting so butthurt I attack other lesbians who use it though, as someone once did to me on here where I made a joke. I wonder who that could have been? 🤔

(hint: it was not the person I quoted, just fyi in case it seems that way.)
