neither, both countries suck

both countries have the same corruption problems

both countries care not for human life

both countries are practically the same people

only reason people care about ukraine bc it provides a golden oppurtunity to isolate russia, which ppl seem to hate more than ukraine

no one cared before, no one will care when its over

thats the only reason anyone cares, prior to russian attacking ukraine for no reason which i agree is bad, no one cared about ukraine...

ukraine prior to the whole fiasco was just another war torn corrupt former eastern european soviet satilite state...

now all of a sudden theyre a model nation, but theyre only a model nation bc its at russia's expense...

any nation no matter how fuxed up it is will always be praised so long as russia attacks it bc everyone hates russia more than any given nation...

hell the world turns a total blind eye to china's shenanigans which is literal genocide bc russia is always the villian despite china being a far worse & more dangerous nation...

my point is, ukraine is a sh!tty place & always has been riddled with corruption that can be compared to russia, but only now does everyone luv ukraine bc everyone hates russia more & none of this will matter yet again when its all over...

so why exactly am i supposed to care? beyond russia invading it, what actual reason is there??? bc from how i see it, both are awful & use human life & human rights as bargining chips to suit their own individual interest... both use starving the world as a weapon for their cause...

only thing thats glaringly bad is the russian armed forces 💅🏻

Nobody said Ukraine was a model nation. The reason people care is because Ukraine was invaded suddenly and tons of innocent civilians were killed... hospitals were bombed... horrible things have happened, so Russia is definitely the bad guy in this situation. Just because you think it's a "sh!tty place" doesn't mean these atrocities should be ignored.

let me stop you there, has it ever occured to you that ukraine has been invaded & under occuptation by russian & seperatist forces since 2014??? did it ever occur to you that during that time ukraine has been fighting that occupation they too have been found to be shelling their own people??? innocent people, noncombatives...

has it ever occured to you that ukrainian defense forces were using similar tactics that hamas uses when fighting a larger more powerful force??? *israel* such as positioning in places such as hospitals & schools, places in population centers...

has it ever occured to you that war in general is horrible & not just particularly this one? because everything thats happening in this war, has happened in practically every modern war & are things thst both sides regardless of which side are always guilty of, this isn't any sort of a special war...

im by no means defending russia, i just dont understand why i should so feverishly support a nation that cares just as little about human rights as its aggressor does...

i guess im just an ignorant angel, or w.e

Yes... all war is horrible. We shouldn't disregard other bad things that have happened... we shouldn't disregard this either.

you mean like how we disregard atrocities across the entire planet much worse than what is really, in the grand scheme of things, a minor war...?

you still haven't given me a reason to care all about either country beyond *war is bad* & while i agree i still dont see why either ukraine or russia should matter to me at all...

if anything i want it to end so food & gas become cheap again, thats really the only way this effects me & frankly i resent them both bc both sides is holding the global supply chain hostage 💁🏼‍♀️

When you say "we" disregard atrocities across the planet, who do you mean? There's lots of people interested in trying to fix our problems, but greedy politicians and rich people stand in the way.

As for your second statement, you just gave a reason as to why you should care about the war, albeit a somewhat selfish one. It affects your prices. And if Russia hadn't started the war, your prices wouldn't be affected - so even that's Russia's fault, is it not?

Where did I, to use your words, say: “Russia good, Ukraine bad”? So if we’re dealing with a grey area, why make generalizing remarks about how both countries have the same corruption problems, both countries do not care for human life, and no one cared about Ukraine before the war and no one will care after?

By the way, the policies of a government don’t reflect the opinions of the entire general public, so in that sense I stand corrected, your observations are rather ignorant.
 
Ukraine has been a free and independent country since august 24th 1991 and since the 2014 russian invasion of Crimea in Ukraine

Ukraine has been fighting russian operatives attacking its borders , then putin the ass hole prick that he is invaded all of Ukraine

in february 2022 since then thousands of Ukrainian innocent citizens have died mothers and children and old people slaughtered

in thier own homes by russian shelling or imprisoned and sexually violated tortured and murdered, mass graves of its citizens from the

mass killings of Ukrainians have been discovered as russia implements a program of Ukrainian genocide ....

while the brave Ukrainian Military .... fights on driving the russian beasts from its sovereign land . And Why ? ..ask vlad .. he's the prick

Ukrainians have their own national identity though, which differs from that of the Russians, shaped by a unique historical trajectory, shaped by the Cossacks.

Sure, both countries are nominally Eastern Orthodox, with significant religious minorities and religions. Both countries speak an East Slavic language, but Russia is a multi-ethnic nation. European Slavs from the western, European part of Russia, expanded eastward all the way to the pacific and Bering Straits, conquering, subjugating, displacing and killing a plethora of different ethnicities, too many to list. What Russia has done in the past, it is now doing in Ukraine. It is trying to bring Ukraine into a Russian sphere of influence, a Russian-led Eurasian union. Russia is creating an image of herself as having a Eurasian identity, which supposedly differs from that of the West, which she is using to appease the other non-Western countries surrounding her and the multitude of non-Russian minorities living in Russia. a non-Western “Eurasian” identity is true for the indigenous inhabitants of central and eastern Russia and the ethnic and religious minorities living in the Caucasus, but not the ethnic Slavic and culturally Christian colonizing European Russians. Russia is a product of Western colonization and imperialism, not much different from what other European countries have done in the past. And now Russia is sacrificing her ethnic minorities, like the Crimean Tatars and Buryats and using them as cannon fodder to fight against the Ukrainians.
