Well do you do that yourself? Maybe they’re on the lookout for someone themselves. If it’s a common thing speak about it or mention about trying to hook up one your friends first. Turn it into a fun game or some sort. Never know if they think the same but if you’re comfortable in a certain group of friends mention it.

I don't know about your current resident but I think that any public place that suit your safety procedure could be great for socializing if you are conservative person some side from your mentality should be exposed visually and verbally in order to attract individual that shares your interests 😉
