Selective rule enforcement.

I think this was a good topic, derailed a bit but I do know that Chat Avenue is an English speaking only and I see this rule enforced fairly across the board as far as chatting. However there are those that are asked to change user names and or avatar because of being non English yet there are others who are freely welcomed whose users names avatars are foreign. This is really selective enforcement. Can we complain about anyone with a foreign sounding name?
Will this weekend go through and report any of you with foreign sounding commie names.

  3. Disrespectful and discriminatory for non - English speakers, and counterproductive to the purpose of Chat Avenue, which is to provide a friendly and inclusive space for people to chat and have fun.
 
wasn't suggesting it become common place to translate, was just a general comment that when you randomly pick a comment/post made in foreign tongue, you are going to discover that they are actually hiding something.

If you look at the site main page, English is the language that has be used here. (The vast majority of users and staff speak/understand.) Its not intended to be discriminatory, its a practical measure- but users can speak whatever language they want in PM etc. If the staff can't understand the language, they cant moderate it.

Good topic but I think your scope is creeping a bit. I think we all agree that English must be used to chat on this site. But in terms of user names, it’s not about “sounding” foreign. User names must be in English. Maybe I misunderstood your point though. Do you have any specific examples you can cite?

if it works for princessa why cant others ask for the same treatment? frequently princessa says the same and posts are edited, deleted and users banned if they dont comply with her demand.

it should be the way you stated, if a user posts then they should expect and accept a reply will happen. however that is not the case hence the selective part of "rule" enforcing.


*rule is in quotes because there is no rule about replying to others, yet its enforced as there actually is one
 
Princessa is right, you are a small group of bullies - ******** that lost their position and now they are crying because of that.
I sincerely hope you regain your old positions so you can enforce brute rules over others.


Here is my thought on the language rules on this site.
Two things:
1-If the idea was to be unilingual, everyone should write English to the best of their abilities.
2- If the idea was to attract as many as possible ******** in order to become interlingual, maybe we should have a few rooms redone- renovated.
Instead of so many gender-based rooms, we should maybe have Spanish speaking room or a French one, Slavic, Devanagari, Cantonese/ Mandarin...

Don't you think that diversity is wealth? 😉

Yes this all day, Take me, making a comment that I wish the Jesus/Trump loving all caps and red fonts crazy lady keep my name among other body parts) out of his/her/it,s mouth and then the poor dear and I know she is mentally ill will type 8 responses all in red font caps saying how bad I am. That is ignore by me all day but other users point out how that person is flooding and derailing nothing much is ever done. It seems some UMs/room admins feel sorry for a small select group of followers and they can get by with murder.

Do you have specific examples of how you perceive user A is treated differently than user B or C ?

Anyone can reply to anything in an open forum, if its on topic(ish) and doesn't violate forums rules. And why cant you or (everyone) simply use the ignore feature. ? And what does any of what you just posted have to do with english names in OP?

As for a persons age, in general, if a person behaves in an inappropriate way they should be called on it, regardless if they are 15 or 95. If minors choose to engage with adults here then they need to expect to get called out when they misbehave, just like adults should be called out.
Just to be clear, calling someone out on their behavior is different than bullying someone. No one should be bullied, minors or adults.

I think this kind of nonsense is exactly why Kim was calling for EE to be adult only 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

She was commenting and quoting you probably as reference as to why Princessa gets away with it. She’s agreeing with you and querying why it’s only for certain people.

Because when Princessa gets tagged she cries abuse.

in the case of quoting you:
you call out one ( rosalina) but not the other (princessa) for whining about people responding, quoting or tagging them in a post or thread . that would be what one would call selective. again, on topic.

It’s not my job or desire to call out every single person every single time they do something. It’s also not my job to enforce the rules here. Do I point out when people violate the rules? Sure. Is it my job to enforce them? No.
Everyone is guilty of being selective. It’s human nature. People call out others behavior but then when their friends do the exact same thing it’s radio silence. I don’t really have any friends here so I just base things on my own behavior.

If we really want to stay on topic, we would be discussing the use of English and English usernames on the site. That was what the OP first posted about. Js

You are absolutely right.
As a matter of fact, both of them "married" imbeciles using the same IP address. ( not cool cause we are not sure they might be the same person )
Even my grandma can open two accounts saying that her new boyfriend is using the other one.

In that regard, I bring you all the proof that we are not sure if Rosie or the anti-fan should be allowed to participate as one IP address has two accounts.
But let's just say we don't mind too much their privileged status on this site.
Also If you notice their style of writing is very similar. ( grammatically catastrophic, rage - violent and politically biased style )
Maybe they ignore each other in the house and that's why they are like this....or maybe everything connected with Rosie was, is, and will be fake.

your complete radio silence when princessa does the same things you call out helpme on. it would help the perceived bias on this site when you stick your nose into something to call out rule violations,( even thought its not your job to ) if youd hold your friends/post likers to the same accord.

in case you didnt read OP posted in agreement to my discussion post, clearly adding the discussion route is on the same topic as their og post. but just like other threads , you focus on 2 words and thats all that you think this thread is about.

Selective enforcement , Red font cap woman makes ten straight Jesus/Trump loving, all lives matter responses which make no sense and that is just allowed because the poor dear maybe running low on meds, or the baby giving up, looking for daddy one making vicious anti gay slurs and this being overlooked and often encouraged. Mainly because they like you and defend you. What is it with you and psychotic females? If I were you I would befriend the more stable ones. Just advice.

I needed some space from the online forum. I get what you are saying, but I also needed some space and respect from you. I have posted some ideas on a thread, but I was away for two days, and I missed some of the replies/posts. I appreciate your interest in my thoughts, but please do not tag me excessively or call me out for something that other users are doing as well. I do not want to argue or waste time on things I dislike. Somehow it feels like bullying, but I'm ignoring whatever is happening. I have other things to worry about and get done, just saying.
 
Also, I would like to express my displeasure with one person who resort to name-calling when they disagree with underaged users like me. I could name a few examples, but I don't want to draw attention to them. I think it is very wrong and strange to insult others when you are guilty of worse behavior. I don't know your age, but you should be kind and set a good example for those around you. Right now, you are spreading negativity. I used to think you were a good person and that you would not attack others, but I was wrong. You are still that mean person who can't respect kids. I'm not sure how I got banned for the same BS that you do every single day, just saying.

*(Plus, I used to be an immature dumbahh, but seriously I cut all that BS from before so I'm not doing the same BS as you).

Yes, it’s normal when someone tags you and posts a comment toward you that you reply. I think what’s important to remember here is you can’t really control people, whether irl or online. The more you try and control people the more frustrated you’re going to be. Js
