A brief overview of how the USA got around to forming the Democrat and Republican Parties.
Voting outside of these two is a wasted vote. Voting in either party just keeps the two powers that be in control of the people that they are supposed to serve. One option is to go back to voting as simply Americans and do away with all political parties. Put a cap on how much one can spend on a campaign, there really should be no money allowed to be spent on advertising on any election when there are open platforms to use online to get your message across. The point is, those who get elected into office end up becoming tied to their party and to the senior members of that party. Having everyone disband from political parties and maintain a sworn oath to the country as a whole, should allow everyone in the Senate and Congress to vote freely.
It can work because people were voting without a major party telling them how to vote before said parties were established. Will people still have the values of Federalists / Anti-Federalists, Republicans/Democrats? Yes but no candidate or elected official will thusly be worried about repercussions if they want to vote in a conservative manner, and those with extremist viewpoints on either side will probably be seen as being in a minority. This is just the short version answer I have I didn't want to get into every single detail of every possible thing imaginable and to leave the door open for others to expand upon the idea itself. If you just want to sit there and pick apart everything wrong with an idea and not contribute to a better solution then all you are doing is complaining.
Do away with all lobbyists; I have no fucking clue how lobbyists manage to get the time of our elected officials, but if the average American can not get the time of day from ones elected official why should lobbyists. How to do away with them is for someone else to solve.
Serenity made a point in another thread about how those with the money can afford all the lawyers they want to get out of a jam, and it's true.
now while a defendant can be provided a lawyer free of charge... it seems we are at a point in time where, there needs to be a money cap on lawyers, no more one-sided lawsuits where a big company has a team of lawyers from a top law firm to defend itself or prosecute to get the best deal possible. Both the Defendant and Plaintiff can only have the same value of a lawyer, if a defendant is given a public defender, then the prosecution gets one as well. or vice versa, if ya don't like that answer then you do better.
What else do you want fixed?
You want to defund something, awesome, what then is going to replace that service? and who is going to pay for it?
You want to stop all abortions, great, who is going to pay to raise the child that is not wanted by the parent(s)? Are you for Abortions, awesome congrats, why should the taxpayer pay for someone's abortion? why is abortion anyone's business other than those who have to make that decision, why should it be a national debate other than does the taxpayer pay for it and why.
To many guns on the streets, and you want to do away with the second amendment or limit who can own a fire arm or what kind, just answer how is someone supposed to defend themself not from a criminal, but from a government that one day decides to use the military or armed federal agencies against the people.
How the **** does the National Debt get lowered?
on an on an on.
Will I be back to this thread, probably not.
