Harassment to combat harassment leaves no winners. If someone is instigating, report the message and block the chatter (additionally PM a staff member if needed). But you matching their energy is just going to result in you additionally receiving consequences for harassment / trolling / disrupting chat / etc. Don't engage and let the mods do their jobs, and you're much more likely to come out on top mute/kick free.
