Nationalized social media platform?

So one common complaint I here repeated is about "my right to free speech" and people not understanding how that's between the state and people, not private companies. The one part where conservatives actually care about regulatory capture and "big tech."

Would a solution then to have a public, nationalized social media platform where the relationship between the first amendment and the general public is protected?

Should nationalize all social media?

How should the platform handle misinformation?

(And yes, this would be state-run-media)

(Hear, but that aside)

Will I then not allowed to be on said nationalised social media? Being Dutch? A foreigner therefor?

Freedom shouldn’t always be about being able to do anything we want to without any restrictions. Freedom should be about creating an equal level playing field. If people are unable to determine their collective future, they are certainly unable to assert or ensure their individual rights, future and freedoms, plus freedom can only go so far, until it infringes on the rights of others and leads to discrimination and exploitation.

I’d say no. See how state run media in other countries turned out. Spoiler Alert: not well.

The solution to people complaining here about lack of “free speech” is to educate them.
Simple and effective.
