First of all I know this suggestion will not be taken seriously.
I know chat avenue is all volunteer and my suggestion would cost CA in money so it will not be taken seriously but
I think with all new mods and even with current mods and admins background checks need to be done.
If there is something where the person was accused of inappropriate behavior toward minors even if unproven should disqualify a person from being a mod.
Waiting for Sam Wise to do his normal gaslighting in 3.2.1

How could we forget? You mention it in almost every single thread 😂 🤦🏻‍♂️
But seriously, I know we don’t agree on much but I actually agree with you on this and I myself have suggested it before in other threads. At a minimum it could be for those staff that are in rooms where adults and minors are allowed to mix. But at that point might as well do it for all staff.
For those saying that it’s “only” a volunteer position so why bother, the possibility of abuse is high so it makes sense from a safety standpoint. All that said, I think most mods and admins are good people who devote their personal free time to trying to make this site better and safer. Unfortunately, there are always a few sick people who sneak in and BC’s would be a good way to weed those out.
 
Does anyone remember the whole Shoe on Head Thread? Did ppl actually think tht worked and counted as a background check? 😂😂

Fair enough, but I was mentioning the past because of the comment about the old G.C. admin. Actually we do agree a lot on certain political issues such as death penalty.

it really started as a joke then i think it was boys chat admin started making their mods do it. and thats where it died.
 
Shoe on head? Is that just a more tedious version of writing your username on a piece of paper?

I was verified when I was a mod for @Samwise lol, because only I act like a little kid, so he had to make sure that I was 18+.
