Background checks are required by anyone purchasing a gun from a federally licensed dealer, majority of gun sales in the US however are done with a dealer that is not federally licensed. Also there are no national laws prohibiting automatic weapons country wide. I can by a AK-47 today for almost 900 dollars and for a few hundred dollars more make it fully automatic. Why would I buy a AK 47? To shoot raccoons. why else?
Exactly, people have been making their rifles fully automatic before bump stocks. No one with a knowledge of fire arms would want to do that unless they want to CoD role play as even military doesn't use fully automatic unless they're blind firing.
A typical civilian AK47 is not an automatic rifle. The majority of guns in America are purchased through a licensed dealer. If not that dealer is already illegal, so making more unenforceable laws will not help. and lastly the second amendment has nothing to do with hunting.
