Bot to post safety information

Since the site's not willing to support and educate people...what if I wrote a bot that would post COPPA reminders and information about who to contact in law enforcement for all the states and at the federal level if you've had your privacy violated or been violated sexually?

Will it also do that for me for the Netherlands? Or Europe? Or is it another one of "there's only one country in the world and the rest doesn't exist' kind of suggestions?

I'm in Canada so only Canada is important.

But really I'd make it as inclusive and comprehensive as possible.

If you’re not going to work with the owners on the idea then it’s a waste of time, in my opinion. Bots will just be removed from the rooms.
they're not going to do it...and that's shitty of them to remove valid and pertinent information...circumvention is easy, also.

I don't think that the owners would want a law enforcement bot greeting users to the chat or they would have already done it. Circumventing has consequences but i'm sure you know that.

Maybe "pertinent info" was removed because users were falsely reporting/framing others constantly or bothering authorities with chat dramas instead of serious issues?

If they aren’t interested in utilizing this, and it’s their site, trying to force it on them doesn’t seem like a great idea.
Have you thought about creating your own site and implementing all these features there? To me that seems like a better use of your time.

So what you're saying is they do want p3d0philes here, gotcha.

No, it's just an information bot. Not entirely sure how that's problematic if it's informing users of options they can take to report problems because mods and admins aren't doing their job.

Nope. Not what I’m saying at all. Not even close.
You seem like a smart person so I’m sure you can read my post and understand what I was saying.

The problem (from my view) is you seem to be trying to force something on owners without their consent. A better approach would be showing them your idea would improve the rooms, and is something they can or should implement. Promising to do it and circumvent everything casts doubt on the intent of your suggestion.

well...you said if they're not...you're assuming they're not interested...in providing information about preventing abuse and grooming...so you're implying...that they support that sort of behavior.

Explain to me where the problem in this sort of thing is. Legitimately. What's the problem in providing users with information that could prevent harm to them or report from a legal framework when something does happen to them?

I can't speak for the owners, and I'm not saying your idea is inherently flawed. What i'm saying is you will get further- if you have them onside, agreeable, and perhaps help create, as opposed to saying you will do it regardless and circumvent if needed. It's their site remember, and management has the right to manage their organization.

Why don't you PM Chatmaster and show why it's needed and beneficial?

why don't you bring it forward and promote the idea because you think it's a great idea and you want to help victims in their time of need? You're the UM...you've got the direct channel to CM

I’m not implying anything. Neither you nor I won’t know if they are interested until you present it to them. I didn’t mean to come across as assuming they aren’t interested.
The site has several statements about online safety and also utilize staff members to prevent abuse and remove people who violate the rules, like pedos. No one I know here supports grooming or abusive behavior.

The valid complaints and closing of threads appear to say otherwise. If the owners...and supporting free labour staff...aren't willing to do anything about it...why shouldn't it be done by those that can?

Im not a tech guy, , I can't create bots and don't know how- If you give me a PM summary/outline of how/why I'll forward it to the owners if that helps.

It's literally the topic of this thread. Bot watches chat...posts periodically with information about where to go to get information about submitting a complaint to COPA or other similar organizations for the protection of children. You want children to be safe, don't you?
