The moral and ethical dilemma of screenshotting nudes

The OP is still massdebating to this.

Now he’s taking it off topic. I thought it was about nudes now he’s talking about animals? Either there’s a bit of bestiality going on here or the OP has completely changed it from nudes to animals
Yes Im aware given the opportunity, anyone i send pictures of my giant horse to can simply save them.
Either way that behaviour is creepy af

we debate ideas here, not people. Keep your childish *kek* accusations to yourself.
Others may debate ideas, you just use it as an excuse to justify your repugnant attitudes and to foist them on others. My accusations are hardly childish as they're based on observation of the subjects you raise and your "debating" method.

0/10 for ability to debate.

Legally, there's no law saying you can't keep photos of that nature and a lot of apps automatically send images to your gallery. NOW... In saying that, someone sending a snap would be doing so to prevent a screenshot and/or image being saved.

Morally, it's wrong. On all levels. Enjoy the picture. Move on. If you're a good person you'll probably get more at a later date, if you're a good person, you're probably going to see people IRL in the nude... Screenshotting a simple nude has the implication you're starved for sex because you're probably shady and/or shady and probably also not moral enough to never share those said nudes.

Maybe ask yourself WHY you want to keep a nude of someone who doesn't want you to have it and/or someone who wants nothing to do with you anymore?

Someone just send me one like 4 hours ago. I didnt screenshot it and its still sitting there in the "gallery" just like you said. It all varies heavily on the manner in which they were sent which is why the topic is as stated.

By the same argument sending a nude has the implication youre starved for sex and dont see people IRL in the nude. Its kind of a moot argument really. People exchange nudes for a variety of reasons including expressing their sexuality, engaging in consensual erotic communication, deepenening intimacy/trust/bond. For many people it also provides sexual arousal.
Maybe ask yourself WHY you want to keep a nude of someone who doesn't want you to have it and/or someone who wants nothing to do with you anymore?
We are not here to discuss MY actions or inactions. We debate issues here, not people.

.... The ask yourself why part was a generalised thing, as in EVERYONE should ask themselves why. The fact you took it as a personal attack says more about you than you probably realise.

Sending nudes is usually done to entice in a moment, saving them when they are sent on an auto-deleting platform to avoid them being saved is more sinister.

Anyway, that's my reply. It's morally wrong to save nudes when the nudes weren't sent with the intention of them being saved. I won't be baited into more back and forth to justify shady behaviour. 🤷‍♀️

If it was generalized blanket statement you would have worded it differently, as you worded it in this response. When you comment to my thread (the OP) you are responding to ME. Thats a pretty nice bait and switch tho. Just like you are talking about mentions of snapchat and "auto deleting" platforms which no one has mentioned anything about. Your tactics are to make it sinister.

I agree that it is morally wrong to save nudes without the intention of them being saved but you are also making generalizations. Just like the generalization that most people sending nudes arent explicitly asking if youre going to screenshot them.

The one common denominator is that all this can be avoided by not sending any.

I see it’s been a while since you’ve posted, but I just want to ask—do people really still think sending nudes is "safe" just because there's trust? Once it's in someone else's hands, things get unpredictable. I get that trust feels personal, but shouldn’t there be more conversation beforehand about what’s off-limits, like screenshots? Curious to hear where everyone stands on that now.

If someone trusts you enough to send something like that, the least you can do is respect their privacy and not screenshot it. Taking one feels like breaking that trust big time.

That one's easy. Keep your personal stuff off of the Internet. Remember that anything you put on the Internet is pretty much there forever.

There is no moral or ethical dilemma at all.

It is obviously wrong & obviously a betrayal of the person sharing them with you.

Anybody with even the tiniest shred of decency knows this.

I get the concern. Consent should always come first, and saving something meant to be private without permission just crosses a line. For people who enjoy that kind of content without involving others or hurting anyone, sites are a good option—they’re fictional and don’t come with real-life consequences or ethical gray areas.
