Female UM?

I made a point in another thread that sometimes, people prefer speaking to a particular gender in regards to issues.

Could we consider getting a female UM for this reason?

A woman reporting sexual harassment might not want to deal with a male, for example. On the other foot, a male might not want to speak to a female... or maybe he does want to speak to a female over more sensitive issues that wouldn't be deemed masculine or something. It could also help to have someone see something from another viewpoint.

Not disregarding current UMs (Well, not the majority of them) being approachable or anything. Just think it might be a nice idea to have both a female and a male in a UM position for moments where this might be the case?

Thoughts?

I'd assume they were more capable than you and were following actual rules not their made up rules? If so, they could request speaking to another UM and the trans UM could pass it over. Just like I can request I deal with @Apollo instead of you should I want to query something or appeal something.

Having a female on the team makes sense. Everyone here knows it does. Your hatred of me for showing you up is really getting to you, huh?

As I said... You're just proving the exact reason we should have a female UM right here.

you do know that for about 10 years straight until about 2021 there were 2 only female UMS (And a female forums admin) right? The only male I remember was Toretto who was often verbally savaged by at least one of those.

(He was a gay chat mod )

There were also male forums MODS.

UMs didn't have a whole hold on forums. They could talk to a male forums MOD who could then talk to a female UM for them who would go to a male CM.

Right now, I either talk to a male... Or talk to a male... Or talk to a male.

If you don't want a female UM, have female forums mods.

andddddd he wasnt "savaged" until after he was canned for over moderating EE ... because he couldnt take being called a British ice cream cone. (which you egged him on for which eventually got him fired)

dont be dragging me into your dumpster fire simply because your a sexist pig.

Ultimately proves HR dislikes females because a male got collared for doing wrong.

And I’m the controversial one. Ooft I’d take that anyday over the names that you’re being called right now. 😅

Edit: females in “power” on ‘just a chatsite luv x’

False.

Hudson is male
12valve is male
Krass is male.
(Unsure if Tyson was ever a um, but if he was he’s male)
J is male.

They were UM’s at least upto and including 2021 so your chronology is wrong.
the OP title says UM

This post I’m referring to. They were male UMs so not female only as you wrongly stated.

oh it was you? yes thats right- and I deny ever egging him on to battle the trauma of being called an ice cream cone its cruel to call anyone that.

Might melt them.

edit: no cat UM since 2016 that I can find either

Erm what am i? fking chopped liver????? For the sake of keeping all things transparent i now no longer identify as female , so i fit the bill nicely.
Oh what so I can get a banned from you 😆 🤣. Imagine you , purplerose , leigh.. replacing the current UM's. Maybe that is the ultimate goal. 🤔 I thought You're more grumpy ass UM than purplebutt but at least she gives me chances.

@purplerose you said cat? No thanks ..that fuk!ng scrub. @Kim was a better admin in my opinion but both really a$$hole to me 😆

In general, candidates should first be assessed based on their ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, not based on gender, race, etc.

Once a candidate has met that first criteria then you can start looking at other factors that might benefit a particular team, such as gender, race, etc.

Other factors can include people who:
  • Can be trusted by the owners
  • Are mature
  • Are loyal to and value the site
  • Treat others with respect and common decency
  • Work as a team to better the staff and site.
  • Use calm and wise decision making

You completely missed the point. As per.

I'm not saying hire any female. Hire a suitable female. See my comment toward HR about her following actual rules.

I based my response on your original post. You said should a female be considered for a UM position for the reason that people might prefer talking to a particular gender.
