Should Guests Be Allowed To Post On Forums???

howdy friends, 🙋🏼‍♀️

a thought occurred to me, if guests are allowed in the chats themselves then perhaps they should be allowed access to certain forums too...

ive noticed that a lot of ppl generally only register accounts here to raise questions / appeals, about bans / kicks they has received; after their issue has been professionally resolved, they actually has lil' to no intention to actually participating in the forums themselves beyond having their petty problems handled by highly qualified adult professionals...

right???

i'm sure u could make the argument that accounts are required to generate some sort of false sense of accountability in the events the thing theyre appealing is truly disgusting, but i'd suggest that accountability is an illusion bc those same guests that make one time accounts to make these appeals can just change their names & IP address anyways becoming entirely different ppl to continue their bulllshitt behavior undetected; rinse & repeat, wasting both time & bandwidth 🤷🏼‍♀️

nevertheless, this would make resolving these appeals faster bc of the time that'll be saved by not requiring accounts to be registered, also less straining on the server by not having hundreds of thousands of more dead burner accounts 👍🏼

but more importantly, wat about users who are forum banned??? how do they make appeals??? i've been forum banned before, & i has made alts so i can jump right back into the so-called-action just for those accounts to be instantaneously banned as soon i make even just one post, sure i make no effort to hide that its me but @StubleU is often banned over practically nothing & not banned by the chatmaster so appealing a forum ban through them is trivial especially when they almost never respond to issues that users has with this helluva website...

no, so if a UM issued the ban; then it should be appealable same as a mute, kick, or ban from the chats themselves can be appealed so long as theyre not given by the chatmaster...

so if u need to make an account to appeal a forum ban & making an account while forum banned is ban evasion, then how are u supposed to appeal that ban??? the only way is by letting guests make forum posts without needing accounts 🙂

i vote yes, bc guests are people too & like all other human beings; their feelings matter

🫶🏼

peace,
god-bless 🕊️🕊️

Guests are allowed in chat but there is also moderators to remove them.
We only have 3 forum ums here (not including CM).
Additionally, the forums dont have a reporting limit cap. Chatrooms have a limit.
Having guests be allowed to post will mean that forum UMs will be overburdened by reports from both registered users reporting guests, as well as the guests themselves false flagging. (if theyre not overburdened by reports already)

If its lack of participation you are arguing, guests accounts on chat arent required to participate either. As is noted by the sex bots who just spam their links in PM and dont contribute to the chat.

Having dissappearing guest accounts here will just give these insufferable users a fastpass to continue their bullshit behavior, much like they do in chat. Atleast with bypassing/ip rolling they are forced to jump through hoops, making emails, verifiying etc (slowing down the bullshit behavior)

We dont have the administrative capacity to deal with the 10:1 ratio of guests.

There is currently 3 ways of appealing a forum ban without a forum account.
1. Is the use of the feedback page

2. Email the chatmaster

3.Contact one of two UM's in their respective chat rooms. (General/VIdeo Chat/Cam Chat). The third forum UM does not have an administrative role in a chat room so thats a bummer.

None of these ways to appeal a forum ban excel at customer service but neither does the equivalent of doing a chat ban appeal.

StubleU was banned because i warned him to stop harassing me or ill ban him again. He didnt listen.

Xcellant question @babydolla, My feeling is it's bad enough we all have to put up with Guest accts. in Gen Chat (which 90% are trolls or pervs), Why not at least have Forums be a place that's semi-troll free or at the very least try to keep it useable. If someone can't even be bothered to register in Forums it's most likely just a troll or perv which Forums does not need. Just my thoughts.
