When you were growing up, what was your dream job? Is any part of that still true?

I wanted to be a famous actor either in movies or live theatre. I occasionally do small time short films or community theatre, but making money through acting just ain’t in the cards it seems.

I wanted to be carpenter. Anything to do with a house from the ground up. It was an open ended want…. I just wanted to build things. If it’s inside of a house I can build it (or on top of even). I’ve done framing, doors and windows, siding , roofing, tile and backsplash, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, fences, and concrete. I’m still doing specialty concrete today. Thinking about trying to own a few air bnbs as a business. I’m still dreaming even though I’m 37 (just made it to 37 today! Haha) I’d like to build Binishells. Gah they look cool. Wish me luck.

a couple spring to mind. Veterinarian, Biologist, Anthropologist or Historian. I have always been interested in natural history, the natural world, human history, cultural practices, literature, music and the arts in general. The exact sciences weren’t really my thing though, so what better than to combine all of my interests and study History? I did just that. After completing my B.A. in History, I went on to complete an M.A. degree in Cultural History, branching out into comparative literature, post-colonial theory, and history of science, in particular history of psychiatry.
