Like Option

When people post comments in the Forum, there is an option for readers to use the ‘Like’ option for their reactions to posts. As we all know, the options are Like, Love, HaHa, Wow, Sad and Angry. The Like is a ‘Thumbs Up’ but, why isn’t there a ‘Thumbs Down’ for ‘Dislike’? Maybe this could be added? Just a thought.

The wow, sad, and angry faces are considered negative reactions. Its pretty much taken that you don’t like the comment if you use one of those to react.

I agree with that if i might add to that suggestion perhaps a curious reaction. For instance some people don't understand comments so they could react with a question mark as if you do in texts on phones.

It’s a decent suggestion. Doesn’t really impact me. I couldn’t imagine any disliking something I said.

This forum was designed by Xeno Forums, I don't think there's an option setup for a thumbs down in the code, But it can always be added. Maybe try suggesting this idea to them 🙂

i think that is a better suggestion, as well liking your own profile on chat...

i know i'd find use in it, bc i always approve of everything that i'm saying 👍🏼

The software allows for reactions of any type to be added/edited/removed in the Administrator UI. It's down to the owner of the site which ones they want. We just have the defaults here. They can also be set to affect reaction score. Here we have thumbs up giving +1, laugh giving +1, heart eyes giving +1, everything else is neutral.

I agree. I think someone pointed out that it’s a software thing, and not something that can be implemented by CM. So it’s something that may need to be raised with the developers. But I’m technologically stunted so I have no idea

Since we talking about changing the emojis, I still think the heart eyes should be changed to a regular heart. Sometimes the heart eyes just dosent feel right where a heart would.

And a thumbs down wouldn't be a bad idea
