Some guy messaged me with the fakest pfp ever (of some low quality pinterest pic of a guy) and claimed he was the guy in his pfp. He asked for my dc, i gave him my user. What did he show me? A guy from pinterest. He told me he's a model, his dad's a businessman and the reason his location says he's in India is because he "travels regularly" to Mumbai. Tbh this is so ridiculous. I can prove a staff member with proof.

We used to action for catfishing, but that rule has been changed very recently. As long as there's nothing illegal going on, or otherwise rule-breaking, it is not something we handle anymore.
Edit: specifically in Teens.

Kind of upsetting as we get a lot of complaints still.

I can see how it can become an issue in the 13+ rooms.

I guess the real life events of psychotic incels executing their targets at point blank range isn’t enough to learn and prevent this happening and that **** deserves a ban more than calling someone a c*nt. in my opinion

The problem is, a lot of the time it is totally harmless, and quite obvious to spot.

That doesn't mean there aren't rooms where it is more of an issues. The rooms with minors have already been mentioned, and I can see how it could also be a problem in a gender-specific room.

All instances of it happening in my room have been the case of some munter hiding their insecurities behind the picture of an Insta model. Wrong, yes. But also quite harmless.

But all of these is why rules should be set on a room basis and not across the board.
