Anti Homosexuality Act in Uganda

In May of 2023 Uganda passed a law that those that are perceive to be LGBTQI+ and or those found promoting LGBTQI+could face fines, imprisonment and the death penalty. Maybe alarming that 60 + other countries have similar laws. Even more worrisome is that part of the Project 2025 agenda will be to strip LGBTQI of all legal protection from persecution, discrimination and violence.
If you do identify as LGBTQI+ are you worried about these anti movements?
What are effective counters a person of that targeted group could use to slow this tide down? Organizations and demonstrations are good tools when you have a large number of people coming together to support one cause.

But straight people will ask why gay pride events take place. What countries are straight people persecuted in?

I don't identify as LGBTQI+ but I am a strong ally, and honestly it terrifies me how many countries either still are, or are returning to criminalising people for loving someone.

This is why we have pride events, this is why fundraising is so needed to give refuge to people who need to escape places like this. Spreading awareness and engaging people into discussions is the first step to educating people.

Religion really is the root of all evil. Papa Satan loves his Christian friends, especially when they blaspheme and use God’s bible to justify their hatred.

They pick and choose which of God’s laws he really meant, and which ones are just ‘rough guidelines’.

With the project 2025 diatribe lot of hatred and negativity toward trans especially. They are making laws making it more difficult for surgeries etc. My biggest fear in the GOOD OLD USA is that with the Supreme Court leaning toward extremist views and a disregard of basic freedoms that gay marriage will soon be a think of the past. If you identify with the targeted group you should be worried. I identify as bi as do a lot of people including those who are embarrassed or anxious about those feelings this could affect us all.
If you are LGBTQI and voted for Trump then you deserve what happens, but not the others.

I'm a practicing Christian, even with my homo attitude. I never understood why straight people complained about the LGBT festivals and parades. It literally doesn't affect their day at all, except maybe taking a detour (even though many take time out of their day to protest at said parades, wasting time they could otherwise spend doing something to be a productive member of society)

There is one thing a true Christian hates more than those who disregard the religion - people who use the Bible to justify hate, violence, and persecution. The parts of the Bible I choose to give significant meaning to highlight that we are supposed to love one another and treat everyone with the same respect you'd expect from them. That is literally the Golden Rule and is the entire focus of the New Testament in the teachings of Jesus. Anyone who uses the Bible to abuse or hate others should be judged by their peers.

That's all I wanted to say. I rarely speak of my religion, but this is one of the few times I feel the need to set the record straight. True Christians won't bully or harass LGBT people - they'll treat them with respect. Period.

The problem with the US is the current wave of conservative Magamania running through America is not by true Christians. Trump himself only attends church for photo ops. What we need more than anything is true separation of church and state. It is funny how some of the television preachers condemning trans and homosexual behaviors while they are all cheating on their spouses. Jesus needs to come now and take all his Christians up to where ever and let the world live in peace.

I believe ideologies and religions can cause conflict, though biology and psychology suggest that human nature is the source of "evil".

Religion correlates with war. For example, there have been around 150 - 200 jihads and 15 - 20 crusades. Although some claim that biology is the true source and religion is just the pretext. Regardless, the ideology of some religions is more violent than others. And some religious followers pose more of a threat than others. An Islamic suicide terrorist is more of a threat than a Jain ascetic or an Amish pacifist.

Nevertheless, some argue that religion has done more than any other force in the history of the world to reduce violence, because it bound large groups together and thus reduced battle lines and internecine conflict.
