Thanks to that parliamentary act how will UK users prove they are over 18, or will we simply be geo-blocked?

While there are adult chats I think chat avenue will be free of having to meet regulations due to its not a pórn site and does not host or store pǒrnography.

The US in some states have implemented age verification but I’ve only seen it on sites specifically for fapping.

*edit

I would reckon if something it would probably be facial/ID verification software rather than geo-blocking

So easy to just click "Yass I am legally 18" but - I had a virus once and a naughty side came up. I'm not admitting to anything else.

The thing in the USA was an entire waste of money, time, and resources. With the flick of a button (VPN) minors were right back on the sites

Even the adult sites recommended blocking the device when the service is being set up which would have been more effective.

But no they want you to put your ID and face on third party verification servers when every site in the world are being breached.

Old ass coffin dodgers trying to enforce laws about technology they don’t understand.

All those resources wasted for pissing in the wind haha

I have very strong opinions about requiring ID for access to porn sites. While the software that requests your ID is usually not the website you're actually on, but a third party with specific security and privacy standards, I feel requiring a government ID is a massive legislative over-reach.

What's next, do I have to prove I'm 18 in order to chat on a chat site? Or access ******* videos that contain too much cussing?

Both of these things are actively happening, with ****** selectively trying to require their bull-hockey age estimation AI in order to watch certain "adult" videos on ******* (not even pornography, just videos that contain violence or certain cuss words) and with Discord requiring you to submit an ID if someone reports you for being under-18 in an NSFW channel.

It's a crazy ass world we live in, and I really hope these internet companies get their crap together and stop trying to police the internet like this.

Edit: The censored word is a video sharing site by a search company

Exactly and the worst part is it has no effectiveness whatsoever but carries issues regarding to privacy and issues with security.
