Private Chat - Friends only

How does Private chat - “friends only” work?

I’m messaging someone and they don’t reply but I don’t get a message saying I cannot contact them (Ignore). Will I know if someone is not getting my messages because we are not friends and they have selected Private Chat - “friends only”

It will flash "you cannot contact this user"

Any chance you could ask your questions in one neat n tidy post?
