How to know if someone doesnt wanna talk/not interested?

I’m confused, there is this person I have been wanting to connect with but they won’t budge…sometimes I feel like I’m making a mistake and wasting their time by trying to hook up a conversation. It kinda hurts ngl, you do so much but all you get is dry texts. It’s not that I ever confront that to them but…it hurts , too much…I really wanted online friends but now…I guess people are just people, if they can’t accept /understand me irl why would anyone bother online!
Opposites don’t attract, neither do likes…I realised that in both ways(in my perspective) I think I should just delete my account and go, but I’m too attached to let go…pathetic really. How can I be happy ? I crave connections…never felt the true depth of it.

I will add to what Kim said, Ask them if they want to talk. You will feel better asking them and if they said idk, then they are wasting your time however they also may want to talk to you. You will never know if you don't ask.

It is not your responsibility to convince someone else that having you in their life holds value. If you want to connect with someone that does not engage with you, it's time to walk away. You do not owe them a conversation nor they owe you one.
