LOL, it’s not ‘art’ if AI created it!

And don’t even get me started on the environmental impact AI has, and it’s ethical issues as well.

...This is so sad
Thanks. This is art.
And art is often sad.
Once I read that the greatest works of art were born from the ruins of love, from deathbeds, and sometimes from madness.
That’s why it was so common to see heartbroken poets wandering alone through alleys and city streets, carrying their bottles of wine, singing with drunkards about their lost loves.
Others, at times, used the dim light of hospital lanterns to write their works as they slowly died of tuberculosis, waiting for death.
Some, lost in madness and schizophrenia, considered cutting off their own ear to create the perfect painting.

It’s interesting, isn’t it? How can something so beautiful emerge from the deep sorrow of love, death, and madness?

so lets get a robot incapable of emotion to do it and call it "art".
I don't think art is something concrete — I believe it’s abstract.
To me, art is the emotions a piece can awaken in you. And the magic of it is that people have different reactions when looking at the same painting — like the Mona Lisa or Guernica, for example.
So yes, an A.I. can be capable of producing a work of art — because the emotion it evokes comes from the viewer, not the machine.
For example, right now, to you it might be just an A.I.-generated image, but to me, it’s more than that — it has context.

What context exactly?

The AI is incapable of showing emotion. Half the meaning comes from the creation process. The emotion the artist feels, the techniques they've learnt and mastered to show the world something they care deeply about.

you wanna claim you feel something from it, sure, but to claim it's "art", and at all comparable, is quite frankly a slap in the face to those who have dedicated their lives to a craft.

Well, to me it’s art because it’s capable of evoking emotions in you.
You seem to feel a bit of indignation — and evoking feelings is part of the creative process.
What is art? According to the classical definition, art is a form of expression of emotions, ideas, worldviews, and human experiences.
It can reveal the inner world of the artist and also provoke reactions in the observer.

Look, I just created a work of art using DALL·E AI. To me, it represents a critique of people who risk their lives chasing likes on social media.
Because in 2025, this image has context and reflects our current world. But in 2225, those who see this picture might not understand the message it's trying to convey. And they may get a completely different message than I do.

The art isn't whats evoking "indignation" tho is it. Its the people trying to say that art created by a robot, and art created by an actual being are at all the same.

I have no issue with the picture it pops out after you asked it so nicely.

And no, it dosent. And people in 2225 will probably know what/who the grim reaper is.

Incorrect!

A.I. steals from a large database of art made by REAL artists that made it with their effort, energy, heart and soul.
