RIP Charlie Kirk

I personally hadn't followed the guy or know every little thing he has been saying but from a far, he was popular with some, and unpopular with others.

I hope his immediate family are okay.

He was not respectful at all. I apologise, but no, he wasn't. He literally suggested gay people should be stoned to death as per the Bible 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Nobody deserves to be killed. I don't condone this, and it's a tragedy that a wife and children have lost their loved one, but someone dying doesn't mean they didn't do horrible things in their life. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

The irony here is this is the man who said empathy was "woke" yet here we all are empathising with a family over the loss of their loved one.

I don’t agree with many of his views but nobody deserves that and in the prime of his life too. RIP.

When commenting on the deaths at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, at a Turning Point event in Salt Lake City in April 2023, he said, “It’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment.”

It’s fair to say that he died as he lived.

He also lashed out at the gay community, denouncing what he called the “LGBTQ agenda,” expressing opposition to same-sex marriage and suggesting that the Bible verse Leviticus 20:13, which endorses the execution of homosexuals, serves as “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”

More recently, he discussed the burning if Pride flags writing on X (Twitter): “We should work to overturn every conviction for those arrested, fined, or otherwise harassed for the ‘hate crime’ of doing donuts over Pride flags painted on public streets.

“It should be legal to burn a rainbow or [Black Lives Matter] flag in public.”

He continued: “We are in a church and so it’s important to remember Deuteronomy 22:5: ‘A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak.

“For whoever does these things is an abomination to the lord your god.’”

Kirk proceeded to deadname Thomas, saying she is an “abomination to god” before adding trans identities are “against the natural law”.

Yeah, he's not a nice person. As I said, I by no means think good of or will celebrate someones murder, it's not right in any way to leave children without a father, parents without a son, but to suggest he's respectful or nice is not the case.

I think it was more his stance on the trans debate that people disliked since that’s all that seems to be pitched lately- that and immigration, as a whole. Those were the videos I had mostly seen when he was at rallies/conferences.
I don’t agree with murder as a whole there are a few exceptions- call me hypocrite idc. But he wasn’t one of them but I can see both sides of the coin when it comes to such a divisive figure.

Apparently there’s a camera still the FBI (?) have posted but as usual it’s always blurry. Description looks to me as a white older male maybe late 40s-late 50s at a push.
 
I got up to 4:20 on that link (ironic number) and he confirmed that’s what the bible said in response to whomever Miss Rachel is pointing out the contradictions/ I didn’t hear him say that he believes gay people should be stoned to death in this day and age.

I will watch it in full later and the others on YT also- because I’m even more curious but waiting on dinner.

If anything positive should come out of such a tragedy it should be healthier debates but that will always be a work in progress
 
The quote itself could have been in response, but the ending comment “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters" shows the intention behind his use of it. He condones it. That line is what changes the tone from a response to outright malice. Discourse level matters.

It's the same verse that people have used for centuries to tell gay people how they are unnatural and deserve death.
 
So to be honest never heard of the guy until the one user had him on his top ten punch in the nose list.
His death to mean just shows you why there needs to be sensible gun control. I like to hear how else he could of been killed by pro gun folks. I guess someone could of drove a semi over him.
 
I got to go to one of his Comback Tour events back in the spring when he visited my university and I was very fascinated by him, and I even was thrown a hat.

I personally am not very big on politics and don’t affiliate myself with a party, but I have a big thing for protecting freedom of speech and having civil talks with people you disagree with is needed for our society as it is rough right now.

What got me fascinated with Charlie is that when I was listening to him debate others he was always very civil and honest with his words often backed up by evidence and logic, even if I didn’t agree with everything he was a very great debater and I can see his reasoning behind why he believes, and was very influential on my generation, more than I think older people realize. He also put faith and family first and I always admire people who do that as that is how I would like to be when I’m older.

Yesterday during classes I saw universal shock throughout everyone, even my friend who hated the guy said “that’s terrible”, and everyone on campus was tied to this breaking news story, and the amount of friends (and surprisingly most of them were female) I know who posted RIP Charlie instagram stories made me realize this guy was very influential, way more than I think people realize. The feeling yesterday was dark and I think everyone in America saw that even if they didn’t like the guy.

One person even said “I liked the guy because I didn’t like the guy”. What is tragic is he was not even in power, had no motivation to be in power, just expressed his views and debated others. He may have had “extreme” opinions, but it’s an opinion, like everyone else has, and if you don’t agree with it, that’s fine, most people will and SHOULD respect that. But the fact that people are actually celebrating their deaths are insane, and they’re mostly adults who should know better is sickening.

So we learn that the guy arrested for the murder comes from a nice Mormon, republican gun loving family. Tyler Robinson even dressed as Trump last Halloween.
I am thinking Kirk was whacked. He has been pressuring to have the Epstein files released.
A lot of weird things, but again we need gun control here.

I dont know or care about this - but just to be an annoying troll @-Luka - 42 - that's the meaning of life the universe and everything. xd

i read about this in 'the metro' newspaper,
didnt care when i read it, don't care now.

But this is what happens when people - left and right - get obsessed with bilious, bollocks racial things.
