Naw I quite like the British Empire, I mean I'm living in a country that's part of the commonwealth, which is a total farce if you ask me, it's all for show.

america and russia won the second world war - i know that.

But if Britain and our empire - dominions and colonies - had not stood up to Hitler, then we'd be living in a very different world

I just mean - compared to the other options, it was better.

personally i'd like the scottish to eff off. their whining bores me. lets see how they fare as an 'independent' nation, tied to the EU.

interestingly, i'm kinda cool with Ireland.
we had our angry arguments in the past, but we are free nations now.
i respect Ireland because they fought (the terrorism was not great) and won their independence.

also, i have scotch and irish relatives too.

America, and or Russia would not have defeated nazi germany without Britain.

The SCOTTISH people give more to the rest of the UK than they gain in return. You'd be royally screwed without the immense amount of power we generate. Do we see a penny of that revenue? Do we feck.

The "British Empire" was one of the most abusive, downright cruel, rapacious and downright thieving empires ever created. It's nothing to be proud of at all and most SCOTS, Irish, and Welsh citizens want nothing to do with it,

How do you know if the USSR couldn't have the means to defeat Germany?

I'd say took more than gave, conquered more than freed but hail that's the meaning of an empire, can't have any of that without huge amounts of bloodshed
