Banned as Spam for chatting about history, using dates like 13,000-14,000 too many times maybe?

See, the issue is, no one that has the sort of power to actually stop the bots, cares enough to do so. The Chatmasters don't log on more than once a year or so and the Admins/mods in the channels have very little power aside from banning people. I was banned and an Admin couldn't even tell me the reason why. That shows you how much they really have access to. I think it's also important to remember that the Admins and Mods are doing this for free. There isn't much incentive to go out of their way to find some "groundbreaking" way to prevent bots from entering their chatrooms.

I think it's best to just expect the worst from sites like these and move on. I've made a ton of online friends here that I enjoy chatting with which is why I even stick around. Do I ever expect my account to be unbanned? Nope. Will I ever find out why it was randomly banned for 10 years? Nope.

Just make a new account and move on, brother. (p.s - totally agree with you though.)

Thank you for your kind response and for making so much sense, friends are the only thing that really kept me coming back to this site, after this event and basically being accused by mods of doing something I didn't do, I don't really feel safe and comfortable enough to start building another account and be worried the whole time it is going to be banned for some frivolous thing.

Oh no! This random guy who was never heard of before today and will probably never be heard from again after tomorrow is threatening us! oh right...people have tried this before, haven't they? You wouldn't be the first to try to "expose" the site and you certainly won't be the last. The site has been up for a long time and will be up much longer so it must be doing something right, and "exposing" it will do nothing but waste your time which I'm sure could be used for much better things.

As for the cp bots, we try to get rid of them as fast as we can when they pop up in any room. Unfortunately, this is very difficult due to the fact that they adapt and find ways to bypass it everytime. We do our best but noone is perfect. We will continue trying our best everyday to get rid of them and keep the site safe

Haha is that how I sounded? I meant go nuclear on why I was banned. I get it Yeti but from my point of view I see people openly skirting censors in the main chat and their accounts staying up. My account got banned for telling another user why Chat Ave censors 13, 14, 15 etc, I wasn't trying to skirt anything, our conversation is not sexual. I have never sought or talked to anyone under 18 on Chat Ave, I was talking about historical dates and explained to the person I was talking why the numbers kept getting censored out. If the mods agree that this is a rightful ban, that is where I have my issue. How come the censor cant pick up on 1..5 like that seems like a simple thing to code in but it picked up on what I said which had nothing to do with sex or anything like that, just telling a new user why numbers are censored. It seems like my real crime was saying "this site blocks 14 and 15 bc it is full of sickos" sorry its the truth.

I get what you are saying. The system isn't perfect but it is there for a good reason. You may have been innocent but 90% of people who get banned by the system are trying to bypass it to talk about things they shouldn't. Again, we try our best and it will only keep getter better as the days go on but it will never be perfect and mistakes will always happen. No chat site will ever be 100% safe but atleast we can say we tried our very best and kept it as safe as possible with our resources at hand.

I agree, I wouldn't be here for second day if this site didn't mean something to me, I have met real friends and had some awesome connections on Chat Ave. I think it is a great community and the bad stuff about the site is something I just dealt with, being accused by a mod as trying to skirt the censors is sooooo wrong. The sentence I got banned for without context I can completely understand why the algo picked it up especially after further up in the conversation I was censored for saying between 13,000 and 15,000 years old. In hindsight this was very dumb and the algo did its job, it just so happens that the person I was talking to was also interested in history and we were talking about prehistoric sites that have been discovered. I cannot fathom the workload the mods have or what resources that are at your disposal and if wasn't for mods chat ave most likely wouldn't exist. Anything negative said about Chat Ave and mods was out of frustration of the situation and not based in reality. I adore this site, I have used it for over three years and I always try to follow the rules, respect other users and even report bad actors which is why this upset me so much. I apologize for being rude and wish you all the best.
