Guests should have slow-mode and reduced character limit.

I don't mean to suggest a ridiculous slow-mode for guests, but somewhere between 3-5s between posts to reduce the flooding in the room. And the system would be able to kick bots and flooders more quickly if attempting to enter text during the cooldown flags the spam filter. The character limit should be no more than a line of text in my opinion, but what a line is on my 40" monitor and my laptop are obviously different, and thus not really quantifiable. Maybe a half to two-thirds reduction at least in the main room, though the final number (if the suggestion is accepted) is obviously CM's decision to make. This feels like a less server heavy option, as opposed to an "ignore all guests" option, since it won't have to commit it all to memory. Actually, if anything, it'll help to reduce strain on the servers by limiting the input speed of the vast majority of online chat-nouns that for some reason got censored.

that would require chatmaster giving two flying fucks, chatmaster and the paid staff do not give a fraction of a flying **** let alone two.

any great common sense idea any one has to improve the site, put it like this, you could literally do all the labor yourself do all the computer work with the software necessary, and just to over simplify things, say all you had to do was send chatmaster an email with , i dunno 7 numbers, 1234567 be like dear Chatmaster please insert this seven digit code into whatever , press enter, and bloop, easy fix for chatrooms and etc, Chatmaster or who ever can make said changes would still be like ah man, that sounds like a lot of work, ill get to it when i can. maybe.

I think you're confusing CM with the owners. CM is in a never-ending battle against spam bots. He dedicates most of his time to trying to keep the chat usable. There are no other paid staff. The owners on the other hand, keep everything lock and key, I doubt even CM knows who they are. The only thing they'd ever notice is if the site suddenly stopped generating them income.

Howsit going. I agree, though I think limit the number of guests in a room at one time to encourage them to become users.... More Users (also total amount limited) means move VIP's which means more revenue and additionally Less Bots and so on and so forth!

So I've been here since 2015 and this has been suggested at least a couple of times a year and has never been implemented. The only reaason I can think of is 1) it would work (and make moderator job easier) and 2) would reduce site income as guests are really the bulk of the income.

So given #2, it'll likely never happen. The owners aren't interested in a nice, comfortable place to facilitate chat among users. They are interested in $$$. That's it. So if inconveniencing users is the cost of doing business, it's good business.

It could easily be financially incentivized. Though I don't personally endorse it, they could use the F2P video game model. Set guests slow mode 10-15s, user slow mode to 3-5s, and do a 50% off sale for VIP a week after the change. I don't think the owners ever really look here at suggestions, anyway. CM probably rarely has time to, himself. Even if he wants to implement it, or something similar, his job is 99% bot deterrence.

no CM just doesn’t read dumb ideas like this ✌🏻

There’s a lot of positives and negatives in these ideas, if you think about it logically the owners get a lot of income from guests as they have a larger part to the site then users as there is more guests then registered users. If these was to be implemented they would start losing money which isn’t ideal. If staff are in the rooms it’s no problem but hey! Users also do the same thing
