Censor in Gay Chat

Hi. I suggest that the censoring program in Gay Chat be trimmed back to a few if any words. It's gotten to be like a church lady gone berserk. For example, the program censors consecutive use of the letters a and p. Presumably this is to prevent using the initials for age play. But this also censors words like apple, happy, zap, apply, and so forth. Another example is the word "rent," which I suppose suggests "rent boy" to British users. There are so many other euphemisms for gigolo that this seems ridiculous. Meanwhile, the program wisely allows f--- and other directly naughty words. All it does is interfere with conversation and call attention to the terms it seeks to impede. Thanks for your consideration.

@purplerose, your point makes sense. I urge banning only specific letter combinations that enable bots. Even in that situation, please give serious thought to whether censoring will prevent anything. Perhaps your administrator can converse with others and see what they censor to prevent bots. The new initiative, censoring the letter a followed by p, is way over the top and I cannot see how it relates to bots nor how it will prevent adults from age playing if that's what they want to do.

I mean in conversation if I want to use the word ap.ply, for example, the censor program makes it **ply. It makes pa.pa p**a. It makes par.ent pa*****. It impedes normal conversation that uses the censored letters in words not intended to be censored. And it's pretty silly to censor a.p or r.ent to begin with. It's easy to find a euphemism for these and other targeted terms if one wants to.
