Pro choice of pro life?

I agree that there's isn't enough...knowledge out there and some young girls are so desperate scared shamed that they have to turn to illegal abortions. If people and society in general would be more interested in helping, the world would be a better place. Religion is also used heavily in a very negative and counterproductive way for everyone involved.
The set limit is around 14 weeks and I think anything above that should be done only if the is an immediate danger of death to the mother.

I had the naivety or stupidity to start debating this topic on gc thinking I can make people change or at least consider another point of view.
I am pro choice so with all good intentions I ended up being called a baby killer so I learned that debating is not for chats but maybe it's for forums. Somehow I have a premonition that ppl can't debate.

my opinion on this, as a woman who thinks men and women should be equal in society and that religion should not be taught in schools, is pro choice. A woman should be allowed to decide if she wants to keep the fetus or not it shouldn't be the decision of the priest, the politician or next door neighbour. Coming from a country where abortion was banned for 30 years, I have seen first hand unwanted children, parents who hated that they had extra mouths to feed or worse being dumped in a overpopulated orphanage where staff would tie babies to the crib to stop moving. When you see the effects you understand that people should be given the choice.
This has nothing to do with women that are trying to conceive and they can't.
Also if a girl has been raped by someone there should be a law allowing abortion rather than forcing the child to have a child. For example ROI where religion is still involved in law making, abortion is illegal even if it's a result of abuse.
So what do you think folks
I personally would never or have never gotten an abortion however, who am I to tell others how to live?? I am not a dictatorship

This is to the pro-choice advocates... Is there a set limit you have on when the abortion can take place? Or are you a late-term abortion advocate in which the baby can be destroyed even up and including 8 to 9 months?
Limitations are necessary, in my opinion. If a woman does not choose to get an abortion prior to the age of viability, then abortion should not be an option. Viability for a fetus is between 24 and 26 weeks. Honestly, I think that the choice to end a pregnancy should be made before week 16 of the pregnancy, if not earlier. Modern technology can tell you the gender of a fetus as early as 16 weeks. Also, women can learn a lot about how their body and life will change during and after pregnancy prior to 16 weeks of pregnancy.

Personally, I would rather deal with the health risks than seek an abortion, but that is my own choice.

The whole argument for men having the complete say over what happens falls around his child to but I think men forget that it's not them dealing with the emotional and physical burden that child bearing carries

I think only option of abortion is if it will kill the mother too becuase you can give the child up for adoption in any other scenarios. It just depends on your defintion of murder though
The American adoption system is incredibly bad, it's not too rare for a parent to adopt a child only for financial gain, while some of them are better there's a lot who will just neglect a child for cash. If you ask me sparing a child from entering the lottery of child adoption where abuse is not too rare, is the best option

I am pro choice, though I would never choose to abort. But I also believe that its not my place to make that decision for others.

Abortion is terrible, but a lifetime of misery is much worse..

Do it like the Germans and don’t get someone pregnant..

I was pro life for the longest time until I realized just how absurd it would be if abortion was completely outlawed everywhere. Think about it. Abortion becomes illegal everywhere, but there are still women who are adamant that they are going to have an abortion and are now forced to do it at home or by other dangerous means. To combat this, there would have to be a law that any woman who says they want an abortion is to be locked away safely until they can give birth. Of course, there would be women who would lie and say they have no issues giving birth but preform an unsafe abortion at home. To combat this, a new law would have to be made that would automatically have all women who test positive for pregnancy to be locked away. That’s the end of the line of logic if you want all abortion to be illegal. All women being locked away until they give birth. And that’s completely ridiculous, and for purely logical reasons I’m pro choice- although I still would never want a baby I helped make to be aborted.- TLDR: how would you stop a woman who’s adamant on having an abortion when it’s illegal?

I’m pro choice. I personally couldn’t do it, but I feel as though I can decide only for myself and not someone else’s life.

I lean to pro-life, that is unless it is highly proven by the mother that she is a victim of r4pe, incest, or other complex issues.
I believe down syndrome/or retarded women should also be OK with choosing. Plenty are impregnated every year not understanding the situation and I don't think they should be forced to go through a traumatic and dangerous experience like that.

This is a personal matter. Life is more shades of grey than pro-choice or pro-birth. We need to start saying pro-birth because they most don't care about the children after birth concerning the quality education; dislike children who are gender non-conforming or POC or an immigrant, against universal healthcare. God forbid a struggling mom gets on welfare, she'll be condemned.

We act like men (not all, I know sensitive people) don't coerce women into having kids. Adoption... Said by people who have not adopted any child.

You could be pro-birth... I just don't get why the laws need to change to conform to the minority voices. If abortion is criminalized, more women will die ("pro-life"); again if you're pro-life, go all the way even after the baby is born. I know some who are really pro-life and they would never support the death penalty etc - I rock with those pro-lifers.
