Pro choice of pro life?

I lean to pro-life, that is unless it is highly proven by the mother that she is a victim of r4pe, incest, or other complex issues.
That's exactly what I'm saying. I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through that stuff just to either look at the result of trauma for the rest of their lives or to have to give someone up for adoption. I believe that places undue emotional burden on both the mother and the child(ren).

A lot of pro lifers in here, it disappointing that in theory, you would let governments or religion, whichever rules society, to make decisions about your body.

I believe that the person making the decision knows what is best for them. With that being said I don't believe in ending a life before it starts just because it inconveniences you. As stated above, there are circumstances in which I can understand the reasoning of termination.

With 7.8 billion people on this planet...God forbid someone gets pregnant and decides to do a termination instead of having a baby she doesn't want. Imagine abortion being illegal because someone somewhere decided for everyone else...free will is taken for granted Handmaid's tale is not just dystopian fiction

All I'm saying is this (MY PERSONAL BELIEF): If something traumatic happened or it will kill you then I can understand that. If you don't want the child there are things called adoption and birth control. Don't end it's life because you weren't responsible.

I think only option of abortion is if it will kill the mother too becuase you can give the child up for adoption in any other scenarios. It just depends on your defintion of murder though

I am pro-choice. I will never get an abortion, because I sincerely believe it is murder. That being said, I cannot decide for other people when they believe life begins. Until that age of viability, babies are parasites sucking the life out of their host (mother). Pregnancy can cause severe health risks in some women. Not all contraception works. However, who am I to say a woman should never have sex if she does not wish to risk pregnancy?

A topic that everyone will never agree on.

I'm not going to say don't ever have sex because what fun would that be? But a logical answer is if you don't want to carry a child, then practice safe sex. There are many options for this. Now being the Devil's Advocate, if a woman is passed out at a party for intaking too much alcohol and some creep takes advantage of her. This is where she should have the right to opt out with an abortion. For the creep, he should spend the rest of his days at the Black Dolphin for his wrong doing! A woman's body, a woman's decision. Not the Government, Religion nor what other's think.

I definitely agree that this is a topic that everyone will not agree on.

I think some medical reason it should be used if it will kill the or harm the women greatly but it shouldnt be for girls who want to use it as birth control cuz they are running around with every one

I mean, why is it any of your business how many men a woman sleeps with? Why is that the focus of your argument? Is it the number of abortions they would have? Or a moral objection to abortion as birth control? Or is it just a moral objection to sleeping around?

I swing more towards pro-life but rape and ince.st are an exception. However, if it's two young teens and they decide not to use a condom or use protection then that's not an excuse to end a pregnancy. Don't really agree with the new Texas law that has upset a lot of people.

I was born and bread in a country that abortion and contraception was made illegal in the 60s and as a result of this ban not only that a lot of unwanted children were left in orphanages but you had illegal abortions that resulted sometimes in death or imprisonment. If this wasn't bad enough, the orphanages were so overwhelmed with the new influx of new born babies that they would tie them to the cot. In the 90s this tragedy was uncovered in the news and world charities came to help. Some of the children were put up for adoption and some are still institutionalised today.
All of this could have been avoided if abortions and contraception would have been legal. Why should my choice be in the hands of someone else? Why are people so concerned with the unborn fetus when, there are so many children out there who are not wanted living in orphanages waiting for someone to pick them or to be old enough to runaway from that place.
I strongly and firmly believe that religion and politics shouldn't decide what you choose to do with your body. Handmaid's tale should just be just a fictional story.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed to read that even after what happened in the 90s, the situation is getting reversed because of religious reasons.

This isn't uncommon to be refused by doctors as it isn't right due to religious reasons. I might sound a little redundant to what you wrote but unfortunately what happens when a woman seeking medical treatment is refused, she turns to those underground facilities that are illegal. Very costly and with health risks. Sadly being so costly, some women take it upon themselves to abort the child which sometimes results in death for they know not what they do.

It is horrific what they do to themselves and I feel only desperation would bring anyone to this extreme level. It's a sad and grim topic and my heart aches to those whom are so frantically determined.

This is to the pro-choice advocates... Is there a set limit you have on when the abortion can take place? Or are you a late-term abortion advocate in which the baby can be destroyed even up and including 8 to 9 months?
