I know its good to have anyone to use chat rooms and having guests gives users who potentially might like the chat room to see and make an account. However wouldn't it be a good idea to rate limit guests from sending messages, such as given them a 5 second forced pause so they cannot spam and just leave. This can solve spam and trolling and letting mods take action faster with out having to remove the spam comments.

I refuse to believe there are so many sickos in our rooms, hence it leads me to believe that site is under constant attack of third parties. (Conspiracy Theory)
It stops being theory when it's true. I do have an idea on the "User" helps the Mods part, I doubt it would get approved tho, may hit the bottom line too hard. : (

If only there was a way for users to do moderator work for us in a very subbtle way and not monkey backing with reports.

Something in the lines of vote kick. A diplomatic vote to kick out unvanted offenders.

I refuse to believe there are so many sickos in our rooms, hence it leads me to believe that site is under constant attack of third parties. (Conspiracy Theory) Real sickos would get tired of being kicked all the time and let off I think. But due to the nature of the easy access to site I do not know how we could improve the security. Most suggestions are just to make the offenders life a bit harder and not get rid completely.

So unless you have a 24/7 mod support or an AI that can do that there will always be something popping up in reports.

Two thoughts on your post.
One, I think users should just enjoy being users. Moderators are here mainly to do a job. Users are here to enjoy themselves. If you start blurring that line things get complicated.
Two, unfortunately yes, there are that many sickos in the rooms. They are real people and sometimes no matter how many times you kick them they keep coming back. Their compulsions are too strong.

I had written a lengthy reply but felt I was a bit of a negative Nancy. I wish there was something we could do more with the disruptive guests. I enjoy being a mod and interacting with the other users. Sometimes the trolling guests coming back are rather off putting and take attention away from users. 🤷‍♀️

You’re exactly right. I would like to have seen your lengthy reply. I’m sure it was fine.

Not only that, limit the amount of guest profiles someone can make. There is no reason someone on a guest profile can make 50 accounts to come off ignore and continue harassing someone. If someone takes the high road to ignore someone, they shouldn't have to worry about some idiot just closing the browser and making a new name in seconds because it effectively removes the ignore feature. It also is annoying because people who don't do this but get put on ignore, just end up off ignore later on when they log back in and instantly start tagging and harassing people.

Another idea is letting VIP get the option to just ignore guest profiles all together to prevent themselves from seeing the scrolling spammers and bots. I can honestly say I don't think there is a single person on guest profiles that I wish to talk to unless its someone who deleted and is thinking of returning. Most of the notorious "trolls" are on guest profiles because they know they can exploit the system. Bans don't always work and when the mods or ADMIN isn't around, they have free reign to do whatever they please.

At the times I am signed on, there are a lot of regular accounts abusing the rules. I have rarely found that a VIP member has, but on the regular accounts (non-guests), there is just about as much as on the guest accounts. I am quite sure a lot of other moderators will agree with me.

I honestly think the best result, even though you're going to always have rules abusers, is only being able to have one account per IP Address. Other thank that, I cannot think or have read a better beneficial solution (so far).

I agree in some respects but, it’s easier to stop their duplicate accounts when registered. I have literally come in here now to report a guest who is trolling under its 8th account its relentless and a complete waste of my time, as well as unfair on the users who it’s disrupting. I wish us mods could ban guests who do this.

My experience has been that the guest accounts are more likely to abuse the rules, but I understand what you're saying about the regular users doing it as well. As to the VIP accounts, it may be helpful for others to understand that in Gay Chat, compared to other rooms, we have a very small number of VIP users, and as such, we're probably not in the best position to judge generally how they respond to the rules.

I absolutely agree on the wishes of us moderators being able to ban users, but my guess as to why we don't have that privilege, is because it would probably lead to a bunch of chaos for administrators. I could be wrong altogether, though. For now I am going to look at the bright side of this - for us 'employees', it's job security.

Hi,
Moderators used to be able to ban but it was abused by a few so unfortunately we no longer have that ability.

Of course it would open a whole new can of worms! I already spend too much time defending kicks to the sea of butthurts 😂. Imagine having to defend bans! I mean, I enjoy a challenge as much as the next person but pfffftttt. Job security sounds like a damn decent reason to me.
