Ideas to stop some pedo behavior

I now this would require a huge update and probably never happen. But another site that users a totoally different program from cody chats has it set up where minors cant pm people over 18 and vice versa. I think cody chats should make an update so chat avenue can have an option like this. I know people can lie about age but this would still protect some people I think.

I’ve had a couple of ******** ask why there isn’t a reason “underage” on the reporting options.

One PMd said they didn’t report underage because none of the categories fit. I told them to use inappropriate content.

Having underage as a reason might help encourage reporting of UA and save mods from having to type underage in the reason box.
 
I know alot of people lie. But you can tell who lies usually how they word things. I think this option would still protect people. if it even protects one child then i think the option is worth it. It is not meant to stop all the predators just deter and stop some.

Maybe introduce a video verification pre check to confirm not a “robot” so to speak? But obviously a disclaimer that it wouldn’t be visible to anyone else except Chatmaster and the user. That way it covers chat avenue’s back also, should any pedo get sentenced etc. nothings impossible.
A few sites have that prerequisite as a confirmation of genuineness. Worth a thought.

The forum is SCF … it won’t end up deleted/edited unless you go on a personal rant. (Not saying you are, no reason for your comments suggestions or feedback to be deleted.) The mods would contradict Chatmaster if they did. 🤫

Legal nightmare for any enforcement in the UK/Europe with GDPR etc, and huge obligations/cost on the site if they start collecting biometric data like that.

The problem is always balancing it between keeping out the wrong uns and making it look too difficult so genuine people are put off coming on the site. Even registering as a member is too much for many.

A large, if not majority, of users more than likely would find somewhere else to spend their time rather than hop on a video call. What I see as a bigger issue though is forcing a minor to get on a live feed. In my eyes, thats wrong. As @Inkandtatts also stated, there are a huge number who find registering to be more work than they want to put in to simply hang out in a chat room. It can feel a little humiliating as well (Ive been through such a thing) which is the opposite of what you want people feeling when they come to the site. Of course everyone wants this to be a fun and safe atmosphere for all, thats not in question whatsoever, these are just my thoughts.
 

A inside community that keeps close watch on the known predators is the most realistic idea.

Arguably obsessive, but some of us have kids, and some of us have witnessed the first hand repercussions of such terrible acts. It’s a matter taken too lightly in the real world..

Make sure your chat community knows who they are, without violating the harassment portions of the rules. Management here, the volunteers have lives, and cannot watch every faucet. I’m sure sometimes things slip.

Don’t ever save any actual proof, you just want without a doubt exposing.

Are you crazy? The people who want to use these rooms don’t want it harder to access it, besides the busiest rooms are mostly yer know for “***** *****” time, and no me no refer to the ***** admin..

Tbh I know another chat site who makes you hold up a piece of paper with a code in order to become a member. And it’s got a lot of active members. Otherwise you’re just a guest and as a guest you’re not allowed to PM anyone.

That sucks, Hopefully they remove that dumb thing. It's useless anyways.
 
Next thing people will suggest the need to put proper I.D into their profile/registration as in from government I.d 🤪🥴
