WOOO, this last issue of Superman VS Teth-Adam aka Black Adam was smart, and a doozy, Superman pulled a mind game on Black Adam to get him to say his secret word kinda how Mr. Mxyzptlk can only be defeated if you get him to say or spell his name backwards, same with Black Adam and his secret word. Normally id * with spoilers, but idgaf because chances are I am the only one on Chat Ave reading Absolute Superman, so yeah, the ending was bomb and not only did Superman barely defeat Teth-Adam he got an assist from the troubled Hank Hall aka Hawkman who took the father box and teleported Teth-Adam to a new dangerous world a world of basically, Doomsday monsters, leaving the now newly delcared Black Adam to one day find his way back to Earth to not be it's ruler but to bring DOOM. an awesome nod to doomsday being a strong possibility in the future of Absolute.
was pretty cool seeing the moon get rocked and split open as well, and how Superman put it back together.
Jimmy Olsen is no longer a feeble dweeb but a bit of a freelance freedom fighter of sorts, while Lois Lane is dabbling into becoming a news reporter.
The Absolute universe is bomb af, if you are not reading it, you are missing out on something special, it all started with DC and All In, and it spun off from there two which, for me i had a choice to make financially , stay with both story lines, or choose to stick with Absolute, and for now i am all Absolute. If you dabble into the Aboslute world and come across Absolute Green Lantern, i got to admit, it is not that great, it is very confusing and not in a good way, and not in a way thus far that makes any sense whatsoever, it pulls from Green Lantern lore and mixes things up that didn't need to be mixed up. and the writers seem to just assume that readers will assume and piece together what they meant for the story to come across as.
Have not read Absolute Flash or Martian Manhunter but I plan on getting the Trade paperbacks, and infact, i dropped A.G.Lantern and am finishing with the trade paper back on that just to temper my OCD. IF, you go to Absolute Batman beware it is a never ending money pit you will not find a cheap first issue , stick with the tradepaperbacks for that.
Side note, my happy ass jumped in on Absolute Batman from day one, so i have a first issue A cover that i've read maybe 3 times, and am never getting slabbed.
Absolute Green Arrow is now out, and it is interesting, Oliver Queen is presumed dead or noted as being dead, but for some reason i seriously doubt that he is dead. And Green Arrow is more of a company and product than noted as being a " hero " and someone has dawned the classic " Green Arrow " garb and arrows and is on a revenge killing spree on evil doers.
