Add links to Suicide Prevention

So I wanna suggest that Chat Avenue add links and phone numbers to suicide prevention help outlets. In light of another thread it’s an issue that’s come up. If any ******** in any room needs help and is hiding it then perhaps information on the sign on screen and in forums would be helpful. A lot of people suffer in silence so any help Chat Avenue could offer would be beneficial to people. Thanks 🙂

People's mental health is always important. If anyone's feeling down or has an issue they're not alone, Suicide prevention can help those people.

the thread u speak of is this one; https://forum.chat-avenue.com/threads/suicide-talk-for-attention.945991

i think this is a fantastic idea, that way anyone who is serious knows where to find help, the mods can stop acting like theyre obligated to be heroes towards the ones who are clearlys doing it for attention; this will effectively do what they would be doing anyway for them instead...

freeing them up to remove those doing for attention, as discussed intently in my thread, & freeing up the admins to then ban them entirely...

Yes. That way anyone who really does need help that chats here can be directed to the help they need. And make links available for multiple countries. I think Chat Avenue has an opportunity to lead by example.

the thread has been made several times by various ranked users with links from across the world, wheetabix, princess of thieves. miss tori chelle and claire (ithink) . + others. the thread never survives. and not for lack of trying by the mods. this one lasted the longest. https://forum.chat-avenue.com/threads/nhs-direct-24hr-help.85/ possibly maybe because it wasnt focused on one subject or he was more caring then or because it was made in the correct forum.

Looks like another updated one needs to be made and stickied.

honestly sammy,

that isnt enough, think about it; look at the amount of ppl that use the forums compared to the sheer amount of those that are active in the chats themselves babe...

particularly the ones that are using being suicidal for ulterior motives...

there needs to be a message like the video sex bot that advertises camgirls that has a message providing resources for suicide prevention, that way while the admins / mods are hypothetically dealing w/ the ones using it for attention or w.e else...

the ones who are serious see a consistent message that displays a link to various suicide prevention hotlines across the globe...

no, u need a message on both platforms ~

fair enough. But that's a CM only ability. We can make something updated for forums as a thread in Health Forum.

already being derailed Ill close it and it can be worked on then posted in Health Forum.

ty Johnny some updated contact info USA Canada and england australia would be great.
Pleas don’t let this thread be derailed. I’m very serious about this post. As someone who has been suicidal just two years ago and was hospitalized for it it’s close to my heart. And @babydolla as well. Yes while the CM has the final say let’s do all we can here to do what we can to make a difference.

Thread started by someone who dabbles in illegal ****, warns users of what to do if depressed/suicidal.

Not like Johnny’s type isn’t one of the main reasons many people/victims of his seek serious help for suicidal thoughts because of his actions.

So.. they sticky his thread. Christ on a bike.
Wait a second...what do I dabble In? This thread is about something serious

Personally I think the bigger problem with this site is the the rampant paedophilia in the chatrooms, and until that is dealt with, any mental health issues cannot be taken seriously.

By focusing on Mental Health will put a liability back on the site that CM probably won't be too happy about and CM will see the pin topic as a dangerous precedent and have it removed.

I am speaking from experience with CA profits over people philosophy, and I am also speaking as an advocate for Mental Health where I have been a spokes person in a business that was responsible for 160 000 employees.

If you are having mental health issues, your first port of call should be a registered Health expert, like your Family GP or a certified counsellor in your area/region.

It had to be said

Quoting for facts

I know we don’t agree on much but I do agree with this. It’s always been an issue as long as I’ve been here (10+ years) but with the recent addition of letting guests post pictures it’s gotten worse. The AC moderator/admin team does a pretty good job of identifying, removing, and banning pedo accounts/content but unfortunately there is no way to completely prevent that type of thing from happening. There are ways to *reduce* it but that gets into the whole profit vs user experience issue.

I don’t believe that providing mental health information brings any liability to the site. The site is not presenting itself as treatment site for mental health issues. It’s a chat site and has no real legal liability wrt the people who use the site. I’m not an attorney so this is just a layman’s perspective. For me, it’s similar to providing internet safety information to the users. They are helpful tips that users can either use or not.

And so should everyone else considering the Nonce admin was fired by Chatmaster himself.
To be fair- I don't know that to be accurate- and was told something different. I'm not taking sides/endorsing, but the thread created was wanted by some users and was well written- and probably overdue especially in light of some recent posts.
