RUFUS

Bronze Member
In a time before time, where histories are often lost, the world was plagued by mystical creatures and races of elves, trolls, giants, ogres, and what have you. Magicians were common place, as well as knights. Throughout the kingdom's history there been hundreds of generations of kings and queens, some good and some down right terrible.

In Declain, the king is Peter The Good, and his queen Naomi. Recently the king's brother Thomas sent forth a quest to find the murderer of their father, the prior King's advisor Flagg, the kingdom's wizard, who had now fled.

The outskirts of Declain are the following regions:

The Sea of Forgetfulness, Andua, The Far Woods, The Cliffs of Nmor, and The Bleu Mountains.

Nobody for sure knows what lies beyond the sea, which is ruled by the pirates of Andua, or the Far Woods, or the Cliffs, or the mountains, for their are robbers, dragons, griffens, minotaurs, elves, sirens, giants, eels the size of ships, as well as sorcerers, among other things, preventing many to get too far.

You can have your choices:

- Knight
- Wizard
- Mystical Creature
- Butler/Servant to The King and Queen
- Messenger
- Adventurer
- Bounty Hunter
- Pirate
- Philosopher/Poet
- Trubador
- Executioner
- Storyteller
- Farmer
- Bartender
- Blacksmith
- Jester
- Writer/Pressman

Name:Nylah Rizzo
Age: 24 yrs old
Gender: Female

Appearance of Character: Nylah Rizzo stands at about 5’6, and is about 125 lbs. With light brown eyes, and black silky hair which is mostly pinned, she holds the appearance of a fair maiden. The only thing that makes her different from the other maidens of the village is her garments, and the visible scars. Nylah wears her leather armor just about all the time. Underneath she wears wool clothing that looks more like servant’s clothes, but a little bit better. It is very rare when Nylah is without her armor on, since she never knows when she gets another mission. Nylah has what looks like three slashes like claws on the right side of her neck. All three about two inches long, and is in a form of a light spot. Despite being a bounty hunter, Nylah seems very delicate, but is far from it.

Background of Character: At a young age, Charlotte Rizzo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Nylah Rizzo. With no one but her mother at her side, the young maiden became very ill. Nylah was Charlotte’s angel; it was her dream to have a girl even though her husband Angelo Rizzo wanted a boy to take over the family business of being a bounty hunter. Everything about Nylah was perfect, from her beautiful silky black hair, to her light brown eyes; even her little toes and fingers were just so perfect. It was like a fairy tale except, Charlotte couldn’t keep Nylah. She was just a mere servant, but her ties to evil were so deep that poor Nylah would feel them when she was old enough. Charlotte just wanted the best for her baby girl, but the choice she had to make would be a life changing decision for both her and Nylah.

Years before Nylah was born, Charlotte sold out to the evil witch of the kingdom. Of course this was all done in secrecy, but still none-the-less she sold out. The maiden betrayed her trust with the queen and king at the time; even Angelo didn’t know of her deceit. If he had known, he would have never married her. Even though Angelo disliked the king very much, a traitor was something he couldn’t stand. Charlotte made a vow that if she could just come up in the kingdom, have everything she ever wanted, including Angelo, then she would give her first born child. How na?ve Charlotte was to think that by making the promise that she could just take it back. Soon riches started to pour in. Sure she was just a mere servant, but things were finally her dreams were coming true. Angelo even started officially courting her for the whole world to see. It was a fairy tale so to speak, but then something horrible happened. The witch who she had given the secrets of the King and Queen to was the maiden of Flagg. Charlotte despised the wizard, but she would never let that be known out loud. He was truly a horrible person, even if he put on the face of perfection.

Charlotte had long forgotten about her promise until this day. Nylah was born, and at that exact moment she became very ill. It was at that moment she remembered. Only the witch came to visit her, disguising it as a visit to see the new born baby. The witch gave her an option; either live on the way she lived, in the riches and glory, and give up Nylah to work for Flagg, or die and let Nylah live the life she was destined to live. At first Charlotte was willing to give up Nylah, until she looked at her small baby. Nylah looked so peaceful sleeping, just like a little angel; in no way did she look like something that could be turned into evil. At that moment Charlotte gave up her own life for the freedom of Nylah.
Nylah was handed off to her grandmother, until her father returned from Garlen. Once Angelo Rizzo returned, Nylah was turned over to him. For most of her life Nylah learned the ways of her father trade. Hunting down mythical creatures, bandits, even pirates, were all the things Nylah grew up with. Angelo occasionally left Nylah at home with her mother when the missions became too dangerous; with her old lady she learned to sew as well as other “maidenly” duties. At about the age of fourteen, Nylah insisted on following her father on his missions. Nylah soon became very skilled in the art of Bounty hunting. The only difference between father and daughter was that Nylah Rizzo was dedicated to her King and Queen. Angelo usually took deeds from the village people, or anyone who paid enough money. Nylah took her missions from the King and Queen, or the royal soldiers. Those who were a threat to the kingdom, Nylah made it a mission to take out. Little did she know she would soon be approached about joining Flagg.

Throughout the years of hunting with her father, Nylah developed a sort of cold personality with the ones she hunts. Once she is “off the job”, Nylah is a very warm person, kind-hearted, but stubborn. If Nylah sees the best way to do something, she wants to do it that way or nothing at all. Despite her kind heart, Nylah is also a bit of a greedy person. Growing up she was taught that money made up for everything. Nylah doesn’t hold that exact philosophy, but money has become very important to her.

Name: Lazarus Lyzander.
Age: 115.

Gender: Male
Appearance of Character: Lazarus is clothed in a hooded robe that extends the length of his body. He never reveals his face in public. He has blood red iris's, white hair, and pale skin. His hair hangs just around his neck and just below his eyes. He wears a red bandana around the lower part of his face, that also covers his neck. He also has black leather gloves.

Background of Character: Lazarus - was the ******* son of a diplomat in Declain. He lost interest in Lazarus's mother after he was distracted by a new servant. It wasn't until Lazarus was born that the man found out the servant was pregnant, for he only looked at the woman when he was needy. Ashamed of impregnating his maid, and what it could mean for his public appearance, he ordered his servant to flee.

His mother, not knowing where to go, decided it best to return from where she'd come from. The Far Woods on the outskirts of the Declain Kingdom. With child in arms and very little food, she set out one night. She'd hitched a ride with a friendly man who agreed to take her as far as he could. Half way there they were attacked by a group of bandits. Lazarus was glad he couldn't remember the details, because from what he'd found out they'd done unspeakable things to his mother. Killed the man, and left him to starve at his dead mother's side.

Upon a hunt, a Vampire waded across the field in search of a faint heartbeat he could hear. The Vampire, fuelled by bloodthirst, lunged at the infant upon sight. Before he could finish the deed and kill the baby Lazarus, he was attacked by one of his own kind... A female. Lazarus was taken deep inside the woods to where this woman and her coven lived.
He grew up in the woods, hunting on animals and travellers that passed by. He felt nothing for the victims he'd killed to satisfy his hunger. The coven grew in numbers over the years and almost felt like a family.

Finally, after several decades, while hunting Lazarus trapped a traveller. Upon seeing her face he froze. He would always describe it as being angelic. He could not resist his urge, but he didn't want to kill her. He told her to flee, but she wasn't fast enough and he couldn't hold back any longer. After the incident, he became disgusted with himself. He refused to feed on anything. He left the coven and travelled back to Declain where he was told about his mother and her death. He travells a lot and usually hunts away from populated areas so that he doesn't attract attention.

Age: Twenty and three years

Appearance:

His shoes and clothes, though plain, were said to be made of 30 yards of material and a whole calf. His height is ten and ten inches, his hands 14 and half long and 10 wide. He weights eight hundred and fifty pounds. He wears a beard, though not long, and his hair is not bushy or unkept.

Biography:

Born in poverty on the outskirts of Declain, Daniel Mynheer Canjus grew up among the farms and vinyards, which were so terribly taxed during the later reign of King Roland and later his son Thomas. Whether it was by magic, or by simple nature, Daniel Mynheer Canjus began to grow beyond adulthood into enormous size and strength. Being able to do the work of three or four men at a time was a huge asset to his family, as money, no matter how small the amounts, began pouring in. By his eighteenth year, he stood well over nine feet, and could dazzle passerby's with his feats of strength, whether it be single handedly lifting a tipped over wagon, or carrying three hundred pound barrels of pork to the kingdom and back. Times seemed good for the Canjus' family, until the Kingdom finally fell apart and the many loyal followers abandoned Declain for the Far Woods; the Canjus' family were unrightfully declared as being traitors, as they stood in favor of the Kingdom, and the Canjus' were murdered by the exiles...save for Daniel Mynheer Canjus, who was celebrating the winter solstice at a tavern and after several dozen ports of ale fell drunk and asleep. Not knowing what had happened to his family and the farm, as it was burned to the ground, Daniel Canjus, the tallest man in the kingdom, a giant in his own right, in all his humility, gave himself to be apart of the Royal Guard to protect the newly crowned Peter.

Location: Presently resides in the Church of the Gods, which sets inside the court square of the castle.

Profession: Formerly a farmer, now a guard to the King

Frosty, for a man of my characters size and strength, should he fall under a regular man or a quasi-mystical creature? I think you said a giant falls under 20 defense points, if I am not mistaken, but at 10' 10" tall, would you consider him a giant-giant? Lol, even though I co-created this game, I wanted to ask you what you would think be an honest/fair level of attack, defense, etc for this character.

You're like a Human-Giant Hybrid. Hybridizing is always the way to go when roleplaying my friend. I think Giants would be slightly bigger than that though. Depending on what you had in mind. But if you was a Giant-Giant then you wouldn't be able to level up and that would take the fun away. SO let's say, to be fair, that your attack and defense will be half a giants plus the level 1 points, and you can still level up.

Your attack would be - 15
Defense - 14

To be unique you could say you have a berserk ability which increases your attack temporarily by 5 or something. I forgotz to add unique abilities -_-.

I've pretty much got it all figured out, except I'm a little torn on profession choice.
As a vampire would I be able to have claws like a werewolf would have (though obviously it would just be long nails)?
I'm unsure of whether I should be a Noble, a Trubador for lulz, a Witch, or a Hunter.
It'd help me make my decision if I knew the answer. Then I should be able to slap my sheet together and shiz. :D
Shweet. I'll fix this all up tomorrow to my profile and then I shall make a post.

Here we go. I was gonna go for Trubador for lulz, but Noble really does fit better with why I'm here and what's generally going on, so...I shall have to be a Bard in another RP sadly. Well, Melodi in WotG has got singing powers so...lulz.

Name: Lilith Carpathia.
Age: 186.
Gender: Shema--er, I mean...female.
Appearance of Character: Lilith stands at 5'7" and appears a little thin, perhaps even underweight, though this is most likely just because of the combination of her pale skin, slender build, penchant for wearing all black and her slightly gaunt appearance in general. She has particularly long black hair which is almost always tied back in some fashion; usually extravagantly. She has deep red eyes that to most would appear to just be dark brown in colour, they have a tendency to change depending on her mood/general state of being though; from almost black, to crimson, to scarlet and even a shocking yellow, her pupils switching between normal human looking and catlike slits. Her clothes are very elegant and she's always well-dressed no matter what the occasion is. She has what seems to be dark make up around her eyes and colouring her lips, though this may just be part of her complexion naturally. She's also able to grow her nails out into claws and retract them when she needs to.
Found a picture that made me think of her. Pretty much what I'd imagined. I was like "omg": linkety link, clickety click

Background of Character: Lilith grew up in a noble family, one which she was born into as a Vampire. They thought themselves quite regal and only fed upon the the purest of blood, but not just from humans, even other mystical creatures. Blood from animals such as pigs and similar beasts would be seen as the equivalent of beggar or pauper's blood; fellow noble folk or strong, good looking, and/or talented individuals would be the normal nourishment, and blood from mystical beings, powerful/strong and/or with magical properties would be viewed like a particularly rare or old wine, as a delicacy. They also thought that perhaps certain powers could be gained from the drinking of blood from the creatures with those abilities. Whether this is true or not it is unknown, however the stronger the creature the blood comes from the more revitalising and strengthening it is, so perhaps there is some truth behind it.
The black sheep of the family, Lilith always had different interests, ideas and beliefs, and rather than wanting to grow to be a well behaved noble lady who would find a nice young gentleman to marry she wanted to travel and see all the beauties and wonders of the world. However these dreams were stifled for most of her life and she was forced to follow the commands of her father.
Later on in life she found out about various shady businesses her father and family were involved in, including slavery and various other similar enterprises to acquire the purest and best blood among other things such as wealth. Lilith has always opposed these particular actions and beliefs of her father, and only upon finding out the extent of the horrible truth was she enraged enough to finally take action and no longer allow it to continue. She tried talking with her father but it got her nowhere, but this time she wasn't about to give up and kept pushing things until she did get somewhere: cast out of the family, and, so she would not be able to divulge their secrets to anyone, sentenced to death. This didn't happen though, instead she fought back, and all her years of training to fight on the quiet so she could at some point leave to travel the world whether her father approved or not paid off. That night at the ceremony for her death she fought back, slaughtering her entire family. From there she set out, travelling the world, moving from one profession to another. She has amassed a great amount of wealth not only from her family and renting out their massive manor and land, but from her life in so many jobs. Though she has invested a great deal of it in charity and the bettering of many places and things in an attempt to make up as best she can for the actions of her family before her.

Most recently she has returned home from her latest expedition and is relaxing in her lavish estate, waiting for something to come up. And it has.

Lazarus crept along the shadows, trying to stay out of the sun, as he walked towards the Inn he was staying at. His hood shadowed his face, covered his darkened eyes. Hid his bloodlust eyes from the crowd. He kept his head down, needing no reason to see where he was going. He could sniff out the scent of the Inn already.

He dashed across the street, barely a second in the sunlight, and slid through the open door. He shut the door silently behind him. Nobody looked up as he walked towards the bar. The room was filled with a buzzing of conversation. "He'll be a good King that Peter," said a round faced man in the corner of the room.

The man opposite him nodded, "I hope so. I still don't believe what happened...," he said, shaking his head and then shrugged. Lazarus grimaced and headed towards his room upstairs. He trudged up the steep steps with no difficulty and paused only to stare upon two men crouched over a small table outside their room. They looked at lazarus as he appeared at the top stair, waited for him to enter his room and then spoke in hushed voices again. Lazarus closed the door with his back, and stood there... interested.

"You have to break their limbs first you see... otherwise they can put themselves back together. Then you place a boulder on each leg to hold it down," said the first voice, the man on the left.
"Yeah-yeah, I heard that. Then you place a piece of silver in their mouths. So they don't chew their way out. I heard one killed John's cousin. The same one they're burying now," said the other man.
"Yeah... you have to be careful around these days. All kinds of things be creeping up on you."

Lazarus needn't hear more. He already knew what they were talking about. Vampires. He hadn't known of any vampires staying outside of the wood. Unless he wasn't the first to leave. He sat down on his bed, awaiting the night for when it came... he would hunt.

Nylah Rizzo stood in the castle's great hall with her arms folded. She stared out of the window blinking slowly. Sleep was calling to her, but it was definitely not an option now. After taking a break to do some hunting with her father Angelo, Nylah needed to get some type of work. He men were growing restless; which they were probably out somewhere getting drunk and causing trouble. Nylah's finger traced the three scars etched on her neck.

"Nylah..." A male's voice sounded behind her.

Nylah turned to face a man standing at about 6'0, with dark hair, and a battered face. So many scars covered it, Nylah often wondered how he even survived those battles. She smiled, "John my good man how are you?" Nylah said sticking her hand.

John shook her hand with a firm grip, "I am quite alright. The royals seem to have no more jobs for you to do. Angelo has been off on a mission, but he sends his love." John said glancing to his side.

Many stared at the two, so Nylah touched the man's arm, tilting her head to side. "Let's walk John...They are really anxious today. I don't understand why though...Anyway...Daddy is off on another job? What job?" Nylah asked, folding her arms and walking slowly.

John remained at the same pace, "He has asked me not to tell you Rizzo, but he says that he is alright. And should be home soon. You are only to patrol the edges of the town. The mythical creatures have been on some sort of up roar."

Nylah frowned, her brows drawing in. What job could Angelo be doing that he couldn't tell his own daughter? He had been acting weird for the past few weeks. Nylah shook her head forcing a smile. "Very well, will you be joining me John, or will you return to my father?" Nylah stopped tilting her head slightly.

"I will join you mi amor." John said with a smile.

"Tell me John, the king's father. Has anyone found the murder, Flagg?" Nylah asked just out of curiousity.

John face went stone cold. He said nothing, but walked away. Nylah frowned again. She shook her head and turned walking in the opposite direction. Now all she needed to do was gather her men, sober them up and go off to the edges of Declain to patrol. It wasn't a very exciting job, but it will do. It was like an insurance policy; Nylah was guaranteed a job if she did this small job.

Okay, I've edited my other post. Also, if Keikoa has an Axe, shouldn't her Attack points be +4, meaning she'd have 9? I was just looking through and noticed it seemed she had gotten jipped.
Yes, you mentioned it before but she musta forgotten it.

Despite having a large group of three siblings, each with their own family living in her mansion, one great enough to house them all comfortably (which she preferred rather than some stuck up aristocratic family that would except such an amount of room for something more along the lines of five people) Lilith was always welcome to stay there during her time in Declain.
She was out a lot of the time even when she was in her homeland, and didn't take up much more space than her own private room, which most of her time in the manor was spent in. Not needing to feed on the things humans would find nourishment in meant she didn't take any of their supplies either. They were also very grateful to her and everyone got along well.

Lilith sat in her study on an armchair beside her desk, against the wall that had a large window. She looked out upon the estate and the land stretched out ahead of her; she had a good view of a lot of Declain from the manor, as it was situated upon a small hill higher up in the land.
The sun was just about to set as she gazed out over the rooftops of the city below, the last delicate rays flickering over the purple clouds and through the decorated window, unable to penetrate the glass and do harm to her pale and vulnerable skin.
Finally she could go out. It would be completely dark soon, but just to make sure until then she swept her cloak around her shoulders, lifting the hood to ensure her safety.

She stepped out of the mansion and made her way out of the grounds, moving through the streets where the upper class lived and down into the poorer sections. It was these people she had the most interest in. Genuine, real people, rather than the pompous and phony noblemen and women who she had grown up around.

As the night went on the sky became completely black, crowded with dark clouds hiding the stars behind them and a light mist filled the air. After spending a little time here and there around the town Lilith was now walking the streets again, looking for anything of interest, something to perhaps take her on another adventure. Then she found it - or at least something. In the air she could smell the scent. She could sense the very presence. Somewhere nearby there was another Vampire, and one she did not recognise.

Nylah pushed her way through the crowds of Declain, with her hood secured on top of her head. At this time of day, the people were all out and about getting things they need and what not. Not too many people ventured out during the night besides the usuals who left the Tavern in a drunken stupor. There were individual stands set up selling, this and that, but Nylah tried not to look. There were things she needed, but she wanted to make a bit more gold before she spent the little she had. She didn't like to be in a broke state, just in case she needed something vital.

Nylah murmured 'excuse me' and 'pardon me' as she made her way toward the tavern. It was a true fact that her men would be in there drinking their lives away instead of getting rest like they should be. Although they were a bunch of drunk idiots, Nylah wouldn't change her team for the world. Whenever things got rough her team knew exactly what to do to lessen the heat.

The woman pushed through the doors of the tavern removing her hood. As usual the tavern was packed full of old drunks, and the strange people some Nylah have never seen before. "Oh no she's back!" Nylah heard a slurred male's voice raise over the noise.

Nylah rolled her eyes, and manuevered around the tables, to a one surrounded by a group of rough looking big men. She pulled an empty seat from another table, and turned it around sitting on it backwards. "Hello boys..." Nylah said, pratically ripping a bottle of liquor from one man's hand and slapping it down on the table.

"Nylah, haven't we did our job?" One man complained loudly.

"Well we have another job, so get over it Michael." Nylah replied, taking a sip from the bottle. "The edges of the town needs some cleaning up. They are not paying anything right now, but I'm sure if we catch something we'll get a little something." Nylah draped her arms over the top of the chair.

"And if we don't. Whos gonna pay our salary Mi Lady?" Michael asked tilting his head to the side and leaning.

"Don't I always take care of you brutes...John is joining us, he says the 'creatures' have been in an up roar so we are going to do our best." Nylah said handing the bottle of liquor to the nearest waitress. "So we in, or you lazy no good men wanna stay here and drink your lives into the ground."

"Aye!" The group of five all replied in unison.

Nylah smiled, "Good job! Now sober yourselves up, it's pathetic how you waste your money in here."

Nylah's men sobered up pretty quickly; it didn't take long since they were used to the kind of lifestyle they led. They would finish off jobs, collect their money from Nylah and then drink it all away and repeat the cycle all over again. It was sickening to Nylah, but she couldn't find true loyal men like the ones she had now. They were her father's men, and now they were hers. Her little group was like one huge family, and being the only girl in the family she was often protected. It was irritating; Nylah was the leader of the group not the little sister.

"I thought you said John was joining us..." One of the men by the name of Hudson slurred.

"You stink...and John will catch up when he is good and ready to join us." Nylah said adjusting her axe on her back.

"Touchy touchy are we...I feel horrible." Hudson announced loudly.

Nylah stopped shoving Hudson, making him stumble. "If you get sick I swear I will fire your sorry ass. Now I want to get to the edge of the town before dark, so we can set up camp if we have to. Now either move it or go away." Nylah didn't bother to wait for a response, she turned and started walking.

Hudson mumbled something, but continued to move along with the group. They continued to travel, until John popped out of no where. Nylah nodded to him, and continued to move on.

"I don't know if we should go today, it is getting dark Mi Lady." John said, slowing his pace to match her stride.

Nylah rolled her eyes, "Would you tell my father that if he were doing the same job?"

John sighed, "Well no, but your father has had um...many years of training."

"As do I...Do you forget that I trained under my father for years I know what I am doing. I would never send my men into a dangerous situation I didn't think they could handle. Besides there is no guarantee that there is something out there. You said it yourself." Nylah said with a smirk, knowing she was right.

There was no point in aruging with Nylah, when she had her mind set on something. For the remainder of the trip, everyone remained silent. They finally made it to the edge of the town, and set up camp. Nylah assigned two men including herself and John to keep watch for the first part of the night. She was tired, but she had to let the men who were the most drunk sleep it off. Nylah sat on a tree stomp staring into the fire, wondeirng what the night would bring.
