any kind of hive mind way of thinking(that’s worship too) is cancer to me. i’ll always be a selfish, non-conforming self-worshiper.

I understand free will but it's difficult to believe in a higher power that allows the suffering of innocents, or to allow a child to be born with defects (we're all made in his image) and still call themselves merciful. IDK What is out there, IDK our origin, IDK what happens to our sentience when we die. these are questions that are beyond my scope of understanding.

The quick and easy answer to why people are religious is that God – in whichever form you believe he/she/they take(s) – is real and people believe because they communicate with it and perceive evidence of its involvement in the world.
While the Nones include agnostics and atheists, most people in this category retain a belief in God or some higher power. Many describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious,”.
It's difficult for me to believe in the 'Christian' God as portrayed in Biblical text, being so kind and helpful and yet I have my mental disorders for doing nothing of sin.

This is just a little poll to see who is all religious or not.
Being religious and having faith are entirely two different things. I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school etc and used to believe very much in God. Over the years after all I've seen, I've become more agnostic. Hard to reconcile a God that is supposedly all powerful and omniscient yet allows bad people to do bad things and allows bad things to happen to innocent kids.

The galaxies with everything in them, are so grand and mysterious that it would be extremely ignorant of me to say 'no'. Too much knowledge is good, but when it becomes pure ego and vanity, it blinds you. I used to use logic and science to say no, but one day the god of death came to me and showed me how insignificant I was next to the greatness of this universe. So, today, I prefer not to touch what I don't know, and the spirit world is one of them.

Religion and God are not one in the same. Religion is about power and there are different God's or higher being in different faiths. If you asked do you believe in something, I think we all do when the place goes to crap but that is being spiritual. Bad and good will happen for lots of reasons, we can only hope in the good of others.

It's almost the same way I think. I think that religion along with its dogmas is more a creation of men, mainly corrupt men. But faith, spirituality, miracles, mysteries, these things of the spiritual world are things that I prefer not to touch today. I was once an atheist, today I am an agnostic. The god of death showed me how wrong I was about everything I thought I knew. It's human vanity to think you know everything.

Jesus yes but God no.
God is not good because, he chose to feed the bad wolf within him, and Jesus is good, because he chose to feed the good wolf within him. Jesus walked together with demons and angels, he knew the worst of humanity, but that didn't define who he was. He continued to be good, but God did not. God was good, but he let himself be defined by Lucifer's evil. God and Jesus Christ are like the fable of the Two Wolves (of the Cherokee Indians). That is, when I stopped seeing the Bible as a religious book, and started to see it as a philosophy, I could see that it is possible to get a lot of good things out of it, including learning from the teachings of Jesus. He left only good examples and good things to inspire us.
